Hi,

I have found a few posts discussing multi-player, but there are so many kinds of multi-player that it was not clear to me what is supported in this or other BG titles on GoG.

Also, I think I've only used GoG once, so I don't really know much about playing games from GoG.

My basic question is: what specific kind of co-op is supported for BG titles available through GoG?

I'm looking for:
Single Computer
Single Monitor (could be split-screen, but does not have to be)
Multiple Players using separate controllers, playing at the same time.

So, not "LAN" and not "hotseat".

Any help would be much appreicated!
My wife and I loved Divinity Original Sin.
first of all Bg3 is different to 1 & 2 so this info is about BG3

to play multiplayer you MUST have a Larian account

I strongly recommend using a Galaxy install because this is game is still in Dev stage and if you use the off line installers you will need to keep downloading the entire lot every time a new patch comes out but as long as you have the Larian account and a working internet then thats everything you need to play on Windows 10

number of players = 1-4 with one person being the host and the others joining from Steam or Gog launchers via your ip address + code that you send to them by copy \paste

the game is designed for single monitor but does also work in split screen... there are not Lan options at this point but its not hard to hack if you know basic networks

this is not Divinity but it does have a strong feel to it + the vids tell your story

people with Mac or on Stadia can join multiplay but there are issues which still need working out... mostly due to those platforms being shit so down grading your settings is the general workaround
Since you also asked for the other BG games as well and it wasn't addressed by USSNorway, I'll answer for those.

BG 1 & 2 was made by Bioware(not Larian) back in the late 90's(to early 2000's for BG2) and are primarily single player games. It does feature multiplayer through IP Connection(so can be either lan or internet, as long as you have the correct IP Address to the host), however the games really aren't designed for it(the dialogue and story system doesn't take into account multiple players, and if one person is in dialogue, everyone is, etc).

Multiplayer supports 6 players(one for each character), any configuration less than 6 players the host choose which player gets to play what character slots(So host could play 5 characters while guest only plays 1, for example).

Split screen is not possible(or any other one-computer form of Multiplayer), and since the games are real-time(with pause) and not turn-based, hotseating is obviously not possible.

The PC version of these games do not have gamepad support, and the console versions of the games do not have multiplayer.

They are publishing offline patches. As with all offline files - especially for indev titles - the completeness, regularity, and promptness is not perfect.
