StingingVelvet: I know you said Lolth-sworn, but since I'm not up on 5e due to only playing video games it's odd to me there's such a focus on "good" Drow now. I didn't even know that was a thing. Apparently they even have their own deity.
I presume it's a move by WoTC to be more inclusive given that in the real world, there's no such thing as an exclusively good or bad race. I suppose the existence of Driztt already gave a nod to that but in a much more limited capacity.
alcaray: Something annoying I've noticed about the short-legged races: they can't jump to all the locations that the other races can. This means that periodically while exploring your party will want to go somewhere that your PC can't follow. There are ways to alleviate this temporarily that use spell slots, also the Gith have a skill (I assume it will be in the release version?) that they can use to get them over the hump. I don't know what jumping abilities the wildshapes have.
Interesting! I suppose it makes some kind of physical sense. I'm not averse to using spells to get around it. I like the concept of using spells outside of combat as problem solvers. Although I'm not sure how I'll go with limited spell slot per-day management. It's a pity the jump spell doesn't seem to be 'until long rest'.
