Hi guys, everytime i have to update the game I have to download like 62 Gb of data, like the whole game, is this normal? My friend who plays BG3 on Steam said the new patch is about 6Gb, so does anybody know why I have to download the whole game, again?

Same here again, this is getting very old very fast - GOG please get your S*** together and get it fixed
Yepp. 62 GB for me as well, using the Update button on the game page, so I pass on that. Over at Extras, there is no offline installers yet.
Over at Steam, they are talking about a 6 Gb download.

Well off to play something else, untill GoG get it sorted out. Sad...

Yeah, one hell of an update-I wasn't expecting it to download the entire game again (62gigs). Hopefully the bad weather here doesn't slow it down too much.
same here it takes one day each time to re download after a patch

Don't know about that...one guy near the end of the Steam patch 3 thread--which Larian didn't think the GOG forums deserved *cough*--says he's been updating for three hours and it's still not done. Doesn't sound like a mere 6GBs...
As I said in my first post, my friend is already playing the new version. He said it was about 6-7 GB. Don't know why GOG can't make the update funtional as an update not a new installation.

Seriously! enough is enough! If this isn't fixed and clearly communicated to be fixed (for all games) soon this will be the last game I'm buying from GOG. I've been reading complaints about this for way too long with stupid corporate non-answers from GOG when they feel like answering at all.
The really sad part is that Gog got this Patch3 the 1st of December. (If you go to Manage Installation, Configure, you'll see)

I like to think they are very busy with CP but this is a problem. The forum should have someone fron the co. to add things in the forum. It would help for sure to know what's up.

I'm pretty sure it is a completely separate team that manages GOG vs CDPR development folks.

GOG does not produce standalone patches for all versions and when they do, this is not first priority. As you can see, patches were produced for all previous versions - but it took a very long time (like 3-4 weeks I think) for all major patches.

This one may or may not be done - don't know.

Full installer for v 4.1.89.3171 EA are now in place over at Extras, 65 GB large. But using the Update DL tells me it is 62GB...
Also in Extra we see a small update patch from 4.1.85.1780 to 4.1.85.5707 (the last build we had to play for the last 30 days) And also from 4.1.84.2021 to 4.1.85.1780, 3 of them.
So patch2 (Com.Update #9) was on 1.8GB + 4.0GB + 1MB + 42MB = ca 6GB, and we had to fully DL 62GB. Pluss the havoc of updating the gamefiles.
Some smart folks uninstalled the old game, and DL brand new version and installed that...

Larian stated that they knew about this issue on last Patch2, and would make sure we didn't have to DL the whole game on next patch...
Well, they kept their word... 62GB are smaler then the complete DL of 65GB....
After over 150 hours of gameplay, I'm done. I'll maybe get back to this sometime late next year. Maybe...

GOG is managed by another team than the game developers. But you're still right-those companies selling products on GOG should have community managers and other staff assigned to communicate with the customers and ensure their products are working smoothly. Larian has assigned community managers to Steam's forums that regularly post updates for the community. It wouldn't be that hard for the same team to manage communication for the GOG community as well. This failure is on Larian Studio's end.
For me too, 62GB download...
yes the patch 3 is 62G
yes Larian blatantly lied both on their own forum and the twitter feed that the new patches will not be so big

no there is no good reason behind having to download the entire game to get what amounts to 6 G of changes... they just don't give a fuck about Gog and didn't bother to cut the patch back like they did for Steam

yes gog servers are overloaded (go figure) yes patches will crash when the load to your network gives up and yes people with ok networks or a tunnel can get the entire patch from gog... i have mine :)

yes downloading this new game \ patch will make your saves stop working and yes rolling back will let you use those saves but thats a shit load of extra downloading so I'd make a back up instead of getting it off the net if thats something you want to try

hope that clears some of this train wreck up for you guys
