I updated the game to patch 9, installed the requested missing framework but the game still asking for missing framework. I answer yes but installation does not start. I restarted the PC but same problem. Now i'm unistalling the game and reinstalling.
Any clues?

same for me. It asked me to download dotnet 6.0.12 and I did and installed and restarted system, but still game is asking for framework to run and it does not show me any other files to download

Found a workaround. The problem is not with the game itself but with the Larian launcher who needs the framework. Go in the Bin folder of the game and launch bg3.exe ( or bg3_dx11.exe) and the game will start. Have fun!

Where can I find that?

In your GOG inteface find where the game files are located then go in the Bin subfolder and double click bg3.exe

actually found out solution witrhout any workaround...... when is asking for .net framework, it gives you wrong link to dowload.... it sends you to .net 0.0.12 runtime....after installing this, i still had error message about framework, just link did not open.....
what do you need is not runtime, but about 25MB bigger .NET Desktop Runtime 6.0.12
both located at microsoft web if you google .net 6.0.12 runtime

if you just run the BG3exe without a launcher it doesn't have crosssaves so any old saves are gone... in fact running bg3 without the launcher will make it unstable and you need to make new saves after each patch anyway


p.s, people installing the net6.12 will likely find the Larian Launcher does NOT show your account details or remember any setting the first time it runs after install of the net files [Don't Panic] this is just the bullshit way they set up the system to skip testing, shut down and restart should then show the settings i.e, forum links at the top and account log in when you reopen the Larian Launcher

I have 2 different pcs with this problem. I verified files and it dwnlds 270mb and works.

I ran into this problem. The DotNet framework 6 website opened fine for me, but installing it didn't solve my problem.

I had to go into the manage install menu and run verify/repair to get it working correctly.

Maybe that'll help some of you.

this translate as Larian decided to replace their launcher so people that downloaded patch 9 and got it working now have a different launcher to other people

you can ignore this message as its bullshit or if it bugs you then run verity... doesn't really matter but just so people know

The work arounds don't work for me bg3.exe or br3_dx11.exe, got the mods all cleaned up and Bam game has no music or cave on launch. Pressing new game gets nothing.

Work arounds gets the cross-save message, but no music or cave.
