The devs updated the Steam back end with “release_patch6”, suggesting the next patch will arrive soon. The article posted doesn't mention anything else noteworthy.

Everytime I go to patch the game, it makes me download over 120 gb as if it's re-downloading the entire game. Is this normal behaviour? I didn't play EA, only retail.

This hadn't happened before to me (I had the EA but actually didn't play it, don't think it matters, none of the updates before was forcing a 122gb update), but today the update also showed for me 122gb. I would speculate it is more connected with the crash on the GoG servers that happened or something like that.

For me it just showed as an update in Galaxy. 122.87 GB.
Can't tell the version though. Not untill the DL is over I guess.

Yeah, just checked the version, it's the correct one it seems. The strange thing is the full download, when the patch is only 21 GB according to Larian notes.

I hope GOG releases a patch only the size of 21GB to download and retain offline as the ones previous to that. Even cut-down to 4GB slices.

Based on the last big patches pertaining to OFFLINE installer downloads, those numbers seem to only really apply to the Steam Platform, every time the same patch is deployed on GoG Platform, the patch size is doubled and seems to just be the way the patch is compressed or modified for the GoG environment. Some times the better option is to just re-download the full game.

It doesn't even appear that the new patch is available on GOG yet. The full download still seems to be the prior version.

I totally agree. I would prefer a 20GB download vs a 120GB any day of the week.

But...having dealt with Patch 4, Patch 5, the FREE space for OFFLINE install requirements was not friendly at all. The free space requirement exceeded the size of my hdd. My only option was to just re-download the full game.

This only happened with the big Patch#, the hotfixes were never an issue.

And Galaxy, man -what a mess, it either downloads the patch or forces a full download, you have to cancel/reload to get it to work sometimes.

Agreed! So, there should be both the full game or a separate archive of the patch for anyone to choose the best for them.
