Need sanity check:
Installed the patch 2 update and now got really bad performance in Act 3 - Rivington Gate area. Like I can change any graphicssetting up or down and I get around 50-60 frames really inconsistent as Gsync (compatible cuts out at 47FPS) flashes my screen. I've spend now some hours checking if it's my end. Cleared cache, checked files and settings.

That performance is same as: Hover over an equipment to see the stats and a second tooltip comes up showing currently equipped. That second tooltip tanked performance as I have now overall. Funny enough that second tooltip with patch2 not so bad anymore like before.

Current guess: A misbehaving routine taking longer time while hindering further execution.

Processor: 8700k @ 5GHz ~ 70% usage.
GPU: 1080TI ~ 70% usage (everything set to highest in NCP and in game)

Same Story on Vulkan as in Dx11.

I'm in Japan and I don't have it either. Restarted Galaxy a few times, varified files, and checked for updates, but it's all still on Patch 1.

I tried installing the latest BG3 update on GOG yesterday and not only did it lock up, it fried my Win11 installation. Lucky I have an older boot SSD to switch to in BIOS. Disk Manager says my Samsung M2 is healthy, so I guess corrupted boot files. No, I didn't have the beta version installed. Anybody else experience this?

Turns out it was my MSI BIOS that got corrupted somehow, and it wouldn't boot from the M2, and flakey booting from the old SSD. So I installed the latest MSI BIOS and now it seems to be working.

Just looked at the offline files for Patch 2, looks like the files were corrupted because GOG has since taken that version of Patch 2 down for the time being.

Though the full game dl - all 29 files - are the current, updated Patch 2 version. So def a problem with the updater itself.

What is corrupted in the files? Again and again GOG broke every patch and hotfix for this game!!! What is wrong with you, GOG???

Not sure but they had the offline patch 2 up early today and at some point took it down again.

Looks like they also made a bunch of the older patch offline installers previously taken offline available for download again?, curious.

As for the Patch #2 one that has been pulled - probably going to be made available again tomorrow or on Sunday even.
After all, putting together patch offline installers and pushing them out during the weekend isn't out of the question any longer.

Yeah, they reloaded all the older patches for those who had the older versions and were off number for the patches. As for Patch 2, who knows....we shall see.


Plus they haven't put up the Patch #2 notes in the notes yet either...still stuck on Patch #1 so up to something....would guess it's probably on the developers side about getting these worked out but <shrugs>...

I just wish to share whoever is still looking for patch2 from GOG a surprise - a good surprise actually!

TLTR; GOG "hiddenly" rolled out patch 2 to my computer on the afternoon of 8/31 without me knowing it. Whoever is still looking for Patch 2 from GOG, check your BG3 version first. You may not need it any more.

Don't read me wrong - I'm grateful - just wishing I had been notified of the update. However, because I wasn't aware of that, after reading the patch 2 release note on Steam today, I wasted a few hours looking for it everywhere - up n down left n right.. Downloaded - twice! - what appeared to be the patch 2 installer via the "Extra" menu of GOG galaxy, but the downloaded installer couldn't find the part 29 file, meaning: the installer couldn't continue due to the missing file... Eventually when checking my gameplay recordings, I was shocked to see I'd been already running the latest version since yesterday afternoon! Unbelievable! How did GOG manage to pull that?!

That explains why the game started to look and feel somewhat different last night. After resetting video settings to "ultra", the game started to run ultra smoothly even in crowded places.

Again: check your BG3 version first. It may have been patched already.

Thanks for pointing that out. I was about to worry about GOG not updating to patch 2, seeing the news full of info regarding the recently released patch. However, GOG already updated to patch 2, which can be seen on the last 4 digits in the BG3 version (running the game, bottom-right, xxx6210).

Why, that explains it.

This patch simply doesnt show up in my list.

I can download the whole game installation for patch 2 just fine.

But I cannot download the patch between patch 1 and patch 2.

Btw I cant use Galaxy right now anyway, even if I wanted to. My gaming rig is offline only atm. Unless I get the patch, the only way would be to uninstall the old game and reinstall the new one. Or possibly you can just install the new one over the old one, I dont know.
