It's nor that important but is it normal that there is no icon/picture für BG 3 in GOG Galaxy but the text "Baldurs Gate 3"?
This question / problem has been solved by nasdaqtimage
it means your network is doing too many things and skipped loading the image... restart your system should sort it out but really no its not that important

Nah, I am having the same problem with the Baldurs Gate 3 Tile only. And I have 100 MBIT VDSL plus a brand new notebook with SSD. I even used the "verify and repair" option but to no avail. Seems to be a bug.

Yeah, same. SSD and good internet and I tried restart and "verify and repair", too.
has far as i know the image is not currently banned in Germany and how fast your download is not the point but next step
1 open galaxy to the installed page and right click BG3

2 select edit then 'media' [see image'

3 click inside one of the boxes and select a different image from your system... i just take a screenshot and cut it to [more or less] the right size when i'm testing

4 press ok to keep the new image and confirm that galaxy updated itself

if that worked then galaxy has permissions to make changes on your system and its not a anti virus software getting in the way... you can reopen the media tab and press the small x next to your test image to reset to default

also you can download these images off the internet or just grab something from the artbook if you need to replace the default

p.s, images are stored in C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\webcache
there should be a 17 long number with Gog as one of its subfolders... then each game you ever installed will have its own number folder with 3 images inside

its possible your system blocked these images but whatever the reason i'll say it again... the icon image has not effect on how the actual game plays

Yeah it looks like this in my GoG Galaxy (see file).

I did find the webcache folder you mentioned. It did not show in file explorer, I had to paste the exact folder in order to find it. The thing is though that I am having 785 games in GoG and it is a bit hard to find the the correct folder which is named just as a series of numbers (as you rightly pointed out).

Have the same problem with BG3 and some other games, too. Did contact GOG about this, but in the end all they suggested was uninstall, delete GoG Data folders and reinstall ... well, didnt work at all.

Hi ussnorway,

Thank you. I downloaded the file and copied it into the correct webcache folder.

Then I restartet GoG but it still does not recognise the file.

Also, there is not the option to "manually select" the file.

I really think that this is a bug.

Kind regards

Same problem here. I also think, that it's a bug. But a really big "Thank you" for your attempted help! :)

mmm sorry i couldn't help guys

I renamed it to that. Now Galaxy autodeletes the file. I give up.

I found the solution.
You have to convert the file from jpg to webp becouse all files in the gog folders are webp.
I did it and now it works.
Following steps:
a) Download the pic from the post above
b) change the file name to 5facf09e67b54bc9fed60013da4f433ad4a67aaa0b9963b0d5f90bf67cc7e7d4_glx_vertical_cover
c) Convert the file from jpg to webp; i used this website https://convertio.co/de/jpg-webp/
d) add the file to C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\webcache\46987898241894936\gog\1456460669

Now you have the picure.
webp translates as a file from the web and you don't need any 3rd party tools to change it, simply right click the image and change the name from image.jpg to image.webp in code terms its just a basic image

as for changing the file type in a data folder yes if the user has antivirus it may make a difference and is of course worth testing... good luck
