Good day guys,

I've restarted (For quite) GOG and service multiple times I have not seen an updated version of the game just yet it is now 8:39am pst.

Can anyone confirm they have started installing the Mac version of the game.
Larian said the MacOS version will be released later - just do a search for bg3 macos release and pick a result

FYI frist on the list

"Baldur's Gate 3 is now available on PC, following its three-year-long early access period. The game was initially set to launch on Aug. 31, but Larian Studios did a move most unusual in the world of gaming launches: it shortened the wait time to Aug. 3 for the PC and Mac platforms."

Note Aug 3rd PC and Mac

So again unless they confirm somewhere everything is questionable.

Nothing on https://baldursgate3.game confirming another date or saying later this year.
Unfortunately the full release is not available for MacOS at this moment.
Seriously?... I've been looking forward to it all day. So lazy..
And the GeForce NOW version is Steam-linked only.. Seriously..

How is this not on any sites, You have people sitting here for an hour trying to get the game.

Thats ridiculous.

Has Larian not released it yet or is it GOG.com that is just not ready for it.
Is it on steam?

Is it being released with PS5 version.
I don't understand how they can give a date and tell you PS5 is not out till a date but not say anything about Mac's
Exactly.. I cant find anything concrete on this
They even say it was in the release notes of the original date.

I'm pretty p'ed on this.
I've pre-oreded 2 years ago and for them to push release dates around.
They should have all been released at the same time. They have people that paid and waiting not right some get it before others.
I'm looking at the Larian community update post #20 released on Friday the 30th of June, close to when they announced the earlier release date.

I can't see it saying that Mac would come out today, i can only see that it specifically said it wouldn't come out today.

"We understand that folks may be disappointed with this but we're close enough to reaching new heights for RPGs on the system that the benefits of a short delay outweigh the downsides of rushing the PS5 release and having to downscale. The full Mac version will also be released at a later date, and we’ll update you as soon as we have a target."

- From Larian, not GOG.

I knew full well it wasn't coming out and I think GOG is doing great competing with Steam, and i'll always support DRM-free. Happy to wait until Larian hands it over. I can understand frustration if you weren't aware but I also checked the GOG page for BG3 yesterday and there was no mention of MAC being released, only Windows.

I'm really not sure where you read it would come out today for MAC, would love to see your source because I might have missed something, I'll admit I often do...
I can't post links at this moment apparently but just check the steam news and the larian forums for community update 20: A Dragonborn, a Half-Orc & a Monk Walk Into a Tavern.

Thanks GOG for stocking this game! Keep up the good work!

Thanks for sharing!

By the looks of your picture, we'll get Mac by August 31st at the latest, but judging from the community update I read on the Larian forums, they didn't mention a release day for MAC when they announced the other platforms get it early.

My takeaway is that we will either get it when they said, August 31st, or earlier which is even better. Win-win. I'm hoping for earlier!

You're right. We should just shut up as mac users. I've already booted up my old Shadow PC again (€50 p/month). Already downloading the release.

It's quite clear that selling games for Mac/Linux as a label on your game is now just an afterthought.

Yeah I understand. It seems Apple is really pushing games in the new lineup of Macbooks, and the MacOS version along with porting support, so i'm hoping we don't have to wait this long again. But i'm happy i can still play this game on MAC. Better than not having support at all!

Hope you don't have to wait long either guys.
@jaarknstein,

Thanks for your input. Unfortunately, we can't post links, so I had to search on Google. The first result didn't come from the official site and mentioned the same release date for all platforms.

However, to find the accurate information, you had to dig into community update posts. Interestingly, the PS5 release date was prominently displayed on their site, but there was no such clarity for Mac.

That's precisely my concern; they buried the Mac release details. For what reason?

They should have pushed the date back for everyone and allocated resources to release the game on all platforms simultaneously. We all paid the same amount to support this project and have been waiting for the same amount of time. It's only fair that they treat all backers equally.
Is my last game purchased on Gog.com... LAST!
@tfraley,

I agree with what you say and feel the same. It feels like they just looked at stats and saw maybe only a few Mac users and just thought they could get away with leave it out of the marketing. So they can say that because they didn't explicitly state Mac on the marketing for the 3rd, that it's all just correct what they did.

I feel it's sad, because the Mac version is just a wrap with some tweaks. I can't imagine that just release the game with some more content (since Path 9) would give them so much more issues. But fair enough; all the latest EA patches also always came later for the Mac.

Perfectly understandable, and thanks for letting me know!
The release-date-shuffle™ really changed things up, hey?

Thanks for getting the word out as 'not' saying things let's this keep happening, no one should have to miss out but seeing people have fun whilst you wait can be a real bummer.

Hopefully we'll get a surprise soon, but i'm happy knowing that I'll get an 'even-more polished' version of the game on Mac by the original release date or maybe early, who knows? And until then, back to Divinity 2 I go... I guess!

Hopefully you don't need to wait too much longer
