Hello fellow players, in the recet days I've had to reinstall windows with a clean installation, after the process of reinstalling all the apps including gog i've launched bg3 and all my saves were not present ( load game button was gray ).

Here's the details:

I have 2 main hard disks who manages gog and games

The first hard disk contained windows installation and gog galaxy client.

The other had the bg3 installation.

I formatted the first , reinstalled galaxy made it search for games and validated them.

Launched bg3 and savegames were missing.

Checked if the cloud sync was active in the client ( it was ) and it was also prior to the format since i could not quit bg3 after a save since it was syncing it's saves.

I executed a verify and reapair.

To this moment nothing changed savegames are nowhere to be found.

Any leads on how to retrive them from the cloud or I got screwed?

Thanks.

GOG cloud saves are disabled for this game.

If you created a Larian account and logged in on the Larian launcher, then I believe Larian managed cloud saves for you (I personally didn't test this, I didn't want to create an account on Larian's platform).

If you were not logged in, then I think you unfortunately lost your saves.

I'm curious... whenever you saved a game did you get a pop-up message that the saves were syncing, or was it just a delay when saving? I haven't bothered to even test the cloud save option (my OCD would never allow it. lol) Although whenever I save, there is still a slight delay, and it seems to occasionally take longer for the "save successful" box to pop up.

All of my saves are stored in the default C:/Users/%username%/appdata folder... even tho my BG3 install is on another drive - if that's where yours were also, you may have unfortunately lost them when you formatted the Windows drive. :(

I did not knew that they did not use the galaxy cloud, but yes I was logged in the the larian launcher so maybe there's a chance.

Yes as stated in my original message every save took long time than necessary and I had the explicit warning before quitting that the game was "Syncing the saves" both as pop up and message in left up corner.

Oh well I might have lost my saves, unless larian has them.
