Can anyone explain why, since BG3 is heavily 5th Ed., that Larian did not include Paladin, Barbarian or Monk as potential character classes? Am I missing something, or are these a "yet to be decided upon" class when the full version is released?
I am certain there will be comments regarding whether or not these classes are worth playing. That's not the point. They are a class and they are popular.
I shall sit in my silent bubble and await an answer if it is at all possible.
Thanking you in advance.
yes you are missing something... the game is in dev and those builds have not been added yet

at day 1 you had Wizard, Fighter, Warlock, Cleric, thief and Ranger

then they added Druid and sorcerer after

Paladin, Bard, Monk and Barbarian are on the to do list along with Gnome... place your bets as to which order they come in

Hmm...I have a lot of reading to catch up on in the forums. Thanks for the heads up. I was kind of expecting the answer as you gave it. Appreciate it.
:)
Afaik they will add the base classes and races which are in tabletop (I don't play pnp myself, so I am not sure what is included in the 5e). Whether they add them all during EA testing is another question. I think Larian is prioritizing classes with unique mechanics, like druids with their shapeshifting or sorcerers with metamagic, to get feedback on their implementation.
D&D 6th Edition will be here before ya know it!
They added Barbarian couple month ago.
