I love CRPGs but I do not know if this game is for me because

1stly. I do not like turn base combat rpgs.
2ndly. Despite my excitement, I couldn't get into Divinity Original Sin 2.
3rdly. I do not especially like dnd 5 version.

Also from what I heard and saw this game is more of a clone of Divinity Original Sin, with dnd paint.

Everyone is praising this game like it was second coming of jesus christ.
I just do not see it.
Am I wrong?
I saw similar blind dedication for Witcher 3, borderlands 3 etc.
Is it warranted/justified or not?
Thanks for the info,
Cheers.

If you could not get into DOS2, you most likely will not like this game either. Do not force yourself to play a game just because some sort of hype. You could give it a try or whatsoever if the refund policies allow that.

But you never should give in just because of hype or rather group pressure. Group pressure is never good.

Off the top of my head, it sounds like you should stay away from it. But you can know for sure if you invest 15 minutes in watching a YT or twitch let's play. There are millions of them.
Based on those criterion I'd say no.

If it was any other game i would probably not even consider it but BG was one of the first crpgs I played in my youth.
Also it has very good customer ratings and reviews. Not to mention everyone is praising this game.
That is why it picked my interests despite i do not like a lot of things in it at first glance.

Also, I should probably not point out (but I will anyway) that there are ways to try out an expensive game before purchasing it.

There is. After a refund, you will either receive it in the wallet or other services you used to buy this specific game.
Getting it back to your bank account usually takes some time. That is why i think twice before buying a game.

That is certainly one of the ways.

These look like a lot of red flags indeed.
Having played only Act I, the game does feel to me like a somewhat inferior (although prettier) DOS (I already felt this for DOS2). I can't comment on the BG legacy, having not played the 2 previous ones.

If at all, Baldurs Gate 3 is underhyped. Its a good game, but people stopped talking about it awfully quickly again.

I dont even know Borderlands 3, I havent played any of the previous Larian titles, and I for sure wont play Witcher 3.

That said I dont get why the OP even started this thread. Its turn based. Its D&D5. You like neither ? Well guess what I'd recomment then.

Oh, and about Hype, that was never a value. If a game can give you something or not is all that matters. Usually some sort of enjoyment of course.

Either way, buying it on GOG.com is the best choice you can make with the refund policy more than just fair, allowing you enough time to test it and find it out.

If you have nostalgia for BG 1 and 2, go buy BG1 and 2 and replay them - they're available on GOG. Icewind Dale is here, too, if you're really into Infinity Engine.

The gameplay of BG3 is very different from BG1 and BG2. The story telling is different (much improved, but you seem to have pretty narrow tastes). The combat is different. The game also seems at least in part based on teh Divinity engine from D:OS 1 and 2. As has been stated many times - based on what you list, this is a poor purchase for you.
Larians game are way different than average, they should do demo. Turtle games arent for everybody, imho.

I finally bought it for winter. I was in D4 way too longer I imagined, going back for Season 3.

Baldur's Gate 3 is a turn-based role playing game. You "do not like turn-based role playing games."

BG3 is similar to Divinity: Original Sin. DOS was a game which you "couldn't get into."

BG3 uses the Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition rules. You "did not especially like" that version.

Those are three reasons why you would probably not enjoy Baldur's Gate 3.

You seem to be open-minded and willing to try something, even when it appears that you might not care for it. That is one reason why you might enjoy playing Baldur's Gate 3.

That's three strong reasons that you might not enjoy the game, and one tangential reason why you might enjoy the game.

If I were to place a wager on whether or not you would enjoy Baldur's Gate 3, then I would bet that you would not find the game to be enjoyable.
