I'm currently binge watching this (still incomplete) walkthrough:

Baldurs Gate 3 : Nine Hells Challenge

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLxZYatGF7_D_TNPKga86nDgeROmdlfPYt

by Melth: https://www.youtube.com/@Melth/videos

I find it highly instructive. He is super efficient.

Anyone knows other good walkthroughs of BG3 ?
without long rest he is missing a lot of the game content and there are massive changes between tach or honor mode so i wouldn't bother

apart from that the game has two basic paths [good vs evil] and you really have to play at least twice to understand the changes... you can be a little good or a little evil for most of act 1&2 but after that you are mostly locked in
He is not missing long rests for story content.

He is doing the long rests needed to progress the story at strategic times when the benefit he gets from these rests is the most minimal.

Thats at the start and towards the end of the four regions (Wilderness and Underdark, Creche, Shadow-Cursed Lands, Baldur's Gate).

Its by the way a playstyle I wouldnt want to copy, but its fun to watch that it is doable and to see how much of the damage to your own group can be avoided with the right character builds and strategies.

I have now finished watching this walkthrough to the point it has progressed right now and its really interesting.

- There are only two things of interest: damage dealing and (crowd) control

- As with any other setup, coming first and the damage in the first round of combat are the most important

- Melee is out of the question, not just because he is trying to avoid taking damage at any cost, but also to avoid status effects from melee combat

- Thus the Alert feat still rules supreme, followed by Sharpshooter.

- Hand Crossbows rule supreme because they are the only ranged option that is onehanded and allows extra offhand attacks

- Summons rule supreme, too. If they are ranged.

- Items that can only be used once per short rest are of limited usefulness

- Items that refresh on a long rest are worthless unless they provide an a buf until long rest
I would highly discourage any player from reading/watching any so-called walkthrough prior to actually playing the real thing. Unless they are among the folks who don't have time to play the real thing, yet believe they have enough time to watch others play the real thing.

This is a complicated game that has lots of systematic rulesets and also openly boasts more than 1000s of different endings. Every playthrough can be dramatically different based on player decisions, game settings, and mods being used. Every player's every playthrough is unique and different to a varying extent. How many hours do we have to spend watching others play, and how many different players do we have to watch, in order for us to acquire a relatively full picture of this game? Such numbers could be daunting. Time could be better spent just playing the real thing.

Enjoy this wonderful game ourselves, instead of watching others have the fun - that's what I personally prefer.

In what way is it not a walkthrough? Ah never mind. I just wanted to pop in and say that anyone who is likely to play this game knows that walkthroughs are pure spoiler from beginning to end. And they are mature enough to make that decision themselves.

Further, there have been tons YT and twitch etc. spoiler content since even before EA (counting Sven's vids) through to now. This guy showing up a year after launch with another walkthrough should not spark anything more than a "oh, are people still doing those?".

I mean, this forum is filled with spoilers because people who have played through the game 10s of times like to come here to discuss the game.

Why yes, walkthroughs are what you watch after you've played the game.
Well to be precise I watched a few walkthroughs before buying the game to get an impression if I would actually like it.

Didnt watch them to the end though, just long enough so I was certain it would be a game for me.
On a similar note, what's the best general non-video walkthrough/game guide to BG3 anyone has found so far?
Sometimes walkthroughs are helpful to see how a quest is supposed to work in the first place. BG3 is no exception in terms of bugs. You just have to be damn careful not to spoil the game completely. That's why I prefer written text to videos.

Imho an extremely precise source of enlightenment is the BG3 wiki @ fextralife.
