I tried installing the game using the install wizard, but it told me it needed to rest to re-memorize its spells.

I tried to, but monsters came across me when I tried resting XD

the current game is 100G but I'd check the save path first as that was changed a patch ago and may need your antivirrus telling to F-off... assuming Windows 8.1 or 10
C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Larian Studios

Windows 7 or 11 users will have more issues because their networks are not supported

3 questions; when you try to fire up the launcher
1 does it show the script ui [see launcher1 image]
2 does it have a logout option under account [see launcher2 image]... if it does don't press logout
3 are the bullshit adds displaying
