According to the changelog a bug for module orientation has been fixed... quote

BUILD 0.0094a
- Hotfix for module base orientation when installing at garage.
- Adjusted base module AI tracking speed.

... unquote... in my current game I cannot use minig modules (as I have done in previous builds) by just double-clicking on/targeting an asteroid and activating my mining module(s).

BUT when I am within range of the asteroid to be mined and then choose another target, then stop the autopilot, the ship's speed will be reduced to 0, and if it still remains near the asteroid (but with the ship's orientation already changed to the new target) the mining modules will start working/mining!

Just to make sure I have also checked the module orientation in the garage but they are set to default values.

Please fix this in the next version or as soon as possible because I see this as a very annoying if not game breaking bug, thanks!
I had a bug too, mining an asteroid:
None graphic was updated, nothing was moving, it was like I was doing absolutly nothing. But it was refreshed only when I just quit the asteroid, suddenly ore was shown in cargo.
Maybe this was coming from another bug: I had bought weigh reduction, but it was not appearing in cargo, so I bought again. And the 1st bought suddenly appeared in cargo when I gave the ore mined for the quest.
I play with an old save, so maybe it comes from that.

Thank you for your message which gave me an idea: today I have loaded an old saved game - saved before updating to the current build 0.0094a - and had no problems using the minig module. Then I reloaded my saved game from yesterday - which I started after installing 0.0094a - and the problem did not reoccur with this save game too!

So that leaves me somewhat astonished about the disappearance of the bug because yesterday I quit and restarted the game several times, reloaded the save game multiple times with and without quitting the game, but always could reproduce the bug which was the reason why I finally opened this thread here.

Now unfortunately I cannot reproduce the bug again but of course I am happy to continue playing without it. If the game developer reads this: maybe you would like to check the mining module function with NEW games started with build 0.0094a? Thank you!
I guess I have found a SOLUTION and was - unintentionally - able to reproduce the bug: when I changed to a new ship I had to reinstall all my modules and then again found myself in the same situation as before - some mining modules and the salvage module did not work as expected...

After some internet research I finally found the solution: sometimes, when you change active modules (e. g. install mining modules instead of weapons for a mining mission) the alignment of the module's rotation changes and you have to go to the garage screen on a station, click on the active module and check with the rotation slider how the active module is aligned on your ship (you may have to turn the ship using the right mouse button to see the installed module if the ship is currently shown form the 'wrong' side).

@momoguru: if you read this please consider changing the default settings for newly installed modules in a way that ensures that they always will point to the 'forward' side of the ship because it is very annoying to leave a station and then find out that (some of) the active modules are suddenly aligned 'backwards'. This would improve playability a lot because now I always have to check the alignment/rotation of active modules after reconfiguring a ship. Thank you!
i am on it....
i only have phone internet atm, i will buy some data and try to update to 95 by tues or wed.
This bug is reverse engineering, lol

It also happens to me when I save a game and come back to it later. Just went out to kill two raiders in Ballast Crow only to find out that all my lasers are pointing toward the aft of my ship.
I found the cause. In the save folder in the ship_data_..txt file the direction of the weapon base modslot was set to 180.0 instead of 0.0. But I don't know why.
There is still a 'bug' in 0.0096
Now the Rotation of active items is saved, okay, but the Elevation is not so:
if I put something else in active slot, it will remove the save of the Rotation next time I switch here an item.

EDIT: the bug is 'ingame' memory, as it saves good when we quit the game.

EDIT2: Really, now it's this bug which makes me reluctant to play "oh no I will again have to set again my lasers and tools each time I do a mission "

Hello

By default, the weapons in the active slots are oriented forward according to the arrows (<<) in the slots.
