you can turn off rock respawn. this will prevent the rocks from growing back. this only effects the main resources (the large deliberate ones) and not the tiny cluster rocks that are small and scattered like dust. those will always come back.

Didn't know I wanted this information seeing as though I'm not flying a massive multi-thousand cargo mining behemoth armed to the teeth with level 10 mining lasers[if that even exists] yet, good to know this for when I get to that.
