I tried playing few hours ago and the update that also added in the new sound effects[love them btw] somehow messed with auto pilot in such a way that my ship now heavily curves when flying at anything and after burners now make my speed gauge malfunction in that it constantly changes how fast it thinks I'm going when no change in speed is visible otherwise.

The auto pilot curve is so bad that even though warp gates and stations have a 600 meter grab range when using auto warp/dock I still miss sometimes with auto pilot trying to take me to said stations or gates.
how fast is your ship going?

momoguru: how fast is your ship going?
I found out after making this post that my ships are going far faster than what the game is telling me. My after burn speed should only be 195, but distance trackers tick down much faster than this. I estimate 750+ mph or greater

I didn't try this patch , but I fear, as my ship is running 808 mph without the bug...
And yes at this speed, before this patch, my ship could hardly aim to its goal, so it doesn't come from the patch, it was already like that.

If your ship can go 808 without a glitch you might want some extra turn thrusters. lol
But this post does tell people that even without a glitch, going super fast screws with auto pilot. So that means that this speed glitch makes slower ships fast and fast ships well... broken.
At the moment I use 0.098 because there the ship speed, with and without autopilot, works without problems.

well, if this doesn't point fingers at 0.099 than nothing does. Something happened to break ships forward speeds

I just test .99, and for me speed works as usual before, my speedy ship feels as usual, save the distances seem have been made smaller (for the patchlog seem to say).

Then how come my 195 mps afterburn speed closes distance far faster than it should? As I've said before, looking at my speed gauge vs the closure rate to what ever I'm targeting doesn't add up. with 195mps I should move 1,000 meters in 5 seconds with some milliseconds change right? No, I close that distance in just over a single second. As if I was flying around 750 mps or more.

My ship is significantly faster in 0.099 at normal speed (85mps) than with afterburner (356mps) in 0.098.

So I'm not alone. 0.099 has amplified speeds by around 3-5 times. I know I keep saying 750 when it should be 195 which would be close to a 4 times mark up, but that 750 is just me eyeballing how fast distance drops as I approach things.

I see that I close distance by 1,000 meters in just over a second putting my speed just under 1,000 mps so I say 750+

I put minimal mention on normal thrust as that part of the glitch doesn't make you miss targets, but it does make combat a pain as you want to focus on turning but you can't because what should be 50 mps is now 200ish

EDIT: *h*as

I've been on a break from this game because of this speed glitch. Has any new information been found about this super speed? Has it been fixed? Seeing as I was going for a combat play style, moving to fast to turn sharply destroys the role of being a combatant type player.
ive made a number of AI pathfinding / afterburner tweaks in 100. working smooth now. a few more days til update.
the actual speed is back to normal a bit, but the MPS readout is more accurate, so it looks like you are going faster.

no tweaks to normal thrust? That was glitched to. Like Normal thrust with the glitch is slightly faster than Afterburn without the glitch.
the normal thrust formulas have been adjusted. the autopilot glitch that was slowing the ship has also been fixed. ive been testing with hacked ships to make sure the high speed ships are behaving nice. so far it all looks good in 100.
