Does any of you suffer from low FPS? I don't what's wrong. I'm using a Phenom II CPU and a HD 5000 series VGA in Windows 10.

Try running the game in Admin mode and see where that gets you :) Also, you can try turning off your anti-virus program (temporarily while playing the game) and any other programs that are running in the background. Perhaps there is some interference from a background process?

I have the same problem. Especially when the flamer or explosions are going on. I can live with that, but a smooth experience is of course preferred. In case you experience crashes: I had to turn off the on screen display of MSI Afterburner completely. If not, this info might come in handy for someone else who uses it by chance.

One thing I just thought of trying would be to get the games to run on a single core of your processor. Some older games flip out when they encounter multi-core processors since they were made in the days when all processors had a single core ;)

Tried to run the game with the start /affinity argument via command promt. Still sluggish. I had to use the command promt, since the game is bitchy when alt-tabbed.

EDIT:
Started the game directly via the .exe as admin. I can see an improvement.

Hmmmm, the only other thing I can think of would be to turn off more non-essential programs that like to run in the background. I know that Chrome running in the background along with suite software (Logitech stuff, phone suite software, that kind of thing) will mess with older games for whatever reasons.

I know you already turned off your MSI program and all that but see what else you can turn off :) Key word: non-essential :)

Thanks for your help, it's a playable classic despite this little problem and I thank GOG for it. Maybe the original poster can try out the solutions mentioned here and give some feedback :)

Exactly! That's what I forgot to add. The game is playable but is not an enjoyable experience imo, frames drops even when I drive a vehicle.

I know it's a bit obvious, but have you tried the compatibility modes? Or reduced colors (16 Bit color mode)? I am setting up SWAT 3 at the moment and those modes have been helpful.

It's ok, thank you for your help!
Actually, I have tried compatibility mode and 16 bit color mode with no luck.
Hey guys, my friend has the same issue and his PC is running AMD CPU + GPU configuration.
I heard that the issue with low fps when barrels are exploding might not occur on computers running Intel + Nvidia configs.
Could you share your CPU + GPU configurations?

Not really sure why, but the first Army Men game allows the Afterburner On screen display for me but I don't think the second one would. Of course, since the take screenshot command is mapped near a regular one for the game it tried to screenshot the game and I had to hard reset.

AMD FX-4100 Quad Core
AMD Radeon R9 380

I have an HP with AMD integrated graphics and AMD processor and it runs Toys in Space fine. My Intel Pentium and GTX 650 setup run Army Men and Army Men II fine, but I haven't gotten Toys in Space to work there.

Jup, I think it was dropping something (?) when the game crashed for me. The command was on F8 and I have set my screenshot key to F9 and the game insta crashed. That's why I disabled the OSD alltogether.
