Sn0wGl0be: Loved this game back in the day, so I'm just wondering how well the GoG version is (optimization, bugs, patches, etc).
I never played the original version and have no idea if it has any compatibility issues on modern systems but I'm currently playing the GOG version and it works perfectly fine on Windows 10. Perfect stability and performance.
Sadly they did not address several issues the original game already had: black bars at the top and bottom of the screen, regardless of resolution (apparently intentionally done so by the developers) and using widescreen resolutions simply stretches the image by default. There's a hack for fixing the aspect ratio described
here but it seems you need to use Cheat Engine and manually fix the aspect ratio each time you run the game so I guess you're better off just playing the game with a 4:3 or 5:4 resolution. Also cutscenes are seriously letterboxed but that's hardly an issue, IMO.
Sn0wGl0be: I noticed this game was released on Steam as well, which unfortunately gets the better product over GoG customers sometimes.
That may be true for some new titles where the developers still apply their own patches after releasing a game on both Steam and GOG and neglect GOG for some reason but I have yet to see a classic release where the GOG version is inferior to the Steam release. On the contrary, there are dozens of classic games where GOG has the by far superior version. Sometimes the Steam version of a game does not launch at all or is missing music or refuses to play cutscenes while GOG always takes care of these issues (or at least attempts to do so).
