Hello,

I bought ARMA2 a while back and played a few single player-missions. Now I am playing "razor two" and I realized that there are so many bugs, that there is no real fun.
For example in "razor two", sometimes I called the helicopter and boarded it, but I can't tell him to fly anywhere. Or in another situation, I grab the golden AK74 (which is in the power plant without ammo) - then I want to pick up my old weapon, but it is just not there. Boths problems do not occur all the time, but when they do, I have to restart the mission...

The main menu-screen says the Version is 1.62.95248, would it make the game playable if I tried to install a patch (if that is possible at all)?

GOG's version includes the newest official patch available for standalone versions, so nothing to patch there.
The newest patch for Operation Arrowhead is exclusively for the Steam version :-/
Okay, thank you, that really sucks :-(

Operation Flashpoint is one of my favourite games, so I hoped ARMA2 was also as good as the predecessor.

You can always update to the Steam version at any time free of charge.
No, that is not possible, because I don't use steam. Also I don't think that the bugs are solved in the steam-version. :(

ArmA II Combined Operations - Last non-Beta is:
version 1.62.95248 from 2-8-2012

ArmA II Combined Operations - The last worthwhile non-steam Beta executable is this one:
version 1.62.103718 from 3-7-2014 !!
This Beta is recommended above the normal 2012 executable. Many things have been patched. Strangely the developer was to busy to ever make it a normal patch level.

I don't remember which beta patch is included in the GoG package, but one is free to remove one and download+install another. The Beta is installed alongside the normal 2012 executable, it does not replace it.
The Beta is started like this:
.\Expansion\beta\arma2OA.exe -beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion
You can put that in a shortcut or a batch file, if necessary.
