LordPorker: I've been sticking a load of points into throwing, due to having fun with the boomerang. I've upgraded to the bladed boomerang but am at a stage where it's not really cutting it! (I know!)
I don't come across any other throwing weapons that often, so should I just give up and invest the points elsewhere?
Before anything else, have you invested in Throwing apprenticeship (gives you extra speed in real time, or extra turns in turn-based) and expertise (reduces or eliminates range penalties)?
First option: chakrams. You can get a great one early if you power shop the gypsy in Shrouded Hills. (Power shopping = check her inventory, walk one screen away, save game, fast forward one day, check again, reload if necessary.)
Second option: grenades. Learn to at least make Molotov cocktails, and blow up everything in sight. Profit! :D
Third option...

Third option: find the Throwing master in Black Root and accept her quest. After she trains you up to mastery (in exchange for the best throwing weapon in the game) pickpocket it back, using a Fate point if necessary. Don't just kill her, or you'll piss off the whole town. You'll get the best use out of it if you get your MA up to at least 75; even without that, its critical hit percentage is absolutely nuts!
