Hi, people, I have just recently downloaded Arcanum here. I ran into my first problem in Dernholm when I was about to talk to Sarah Toones to ask about her mother, Bessie Toones, but I could not seem to interact with her, there were no dialogue option when I tried to interact with her, the quest suddenly got stuck here. Is this a bug? Is there any patch for it? Thanks in advance... =)

That does sound like a bug for sure.

Yup, I did, but it still does not solve the problem, and more problems appear instead, the game actually froze midway... any other advice on this? =)

Hmm... I don't think I've had the game straight up freeze on me midway through the game. But that sounds like an issue of compatibility (which I don't know if you can do anything about, since Arcanum is so old) rather than with the UP.

Sorry to not really be more helpful. I would suggest keeping your current game and starting over with a fresh start to see if that fixes anything (since you aren't really that far in the game you can probably get to Dernholm to try and talk to Sarah again fairly quickly to check how persistent the bug is).

I don't know if there is someone else on these forums who could help with this type of issue. You could also search on the TerraArcanum forums (http://www.terra-arcanum.com/phpBB/) to see if there is any talk about the issues you are having. They are not very populated any more though, so if you can find threads they will probably be long dead.

I'm not entirely sure from your post if you applied the patch before or after the Sarah problem occurred. IIRC, you can't play saved games from before the patch was applied. Start a new game after applying the patch.

Yeah, you have to start a new game for the patch to work - I just assumed that argus0011 did that before the problem occurred, but reading it again it is ambiguous.
