When I start the game, I cant control the mouse cursor properly. It acts weird (I move it and it moves too far, I click and it moves instead click).

That happens to me also in MoO2.

Im using Windows 7.

Thanks.

I would like to take advantage of this tread and ask for help myself.
My just trying a demo and for some reason my camera became fixed on my character. I don't know what I pressed but it is really annoying. Do you guys know what to do to fix this?
I know I can start a new game and I will when I buy the game but would like to know a real solution before... thanks.
I don't know the solution to this, but I think I've heard of something similar before... perhaps having to do with mouse acceleration? Something to be changed in an .ini file? Anyone else know?

paralaX, can you use the cursor keys to move the camera around? Is it only the mouse that won't move the camera?
No keys don't work as well.

OK, a slightly silly question... does right-clicking do anything? Sometimes you can change the cursor to something else, like a "use" or "throw" cursor and these might have limited range and therefore wouldn't move the camera around. Right-clicking would revert the cursor to normal.

But I really don't know much about this, anyone else have ideas?
Right-clicking appears to cancel some actions in progress, and also changes your character's facing without actually moving. Additionally, it also (as you noted) cancels a command not yet in progress and restores your cursor to default.

Heh, my last post was poorly worded... when I asked if right-clicking did anything I was asking paralaX if it did anything for him specifically. I thought maybe his cursor got messed up due to being stuck in some command or other, which might be fixed my right-clicking. In other words, I already knew that right-clicking would cancel an action, but I didn't know if that was paralaX's problem or not.
See, that's what I get for answering a post without its context. No worries. Glad you don't dispute my description of that button's powers.
That does seem like good advice in Arcanum. Something going wrong? Try right-clicking. If that doesn't work, tinker more.
Curious.................I asked something, and in the post people starting to answer someone who cant make a post on his/her own. Sure if I go to another post and start to ask my question, the post owner tell me to create a post for my question.

Actually, my comment about mouse acceleration, or an .ini file tweak, was in response to your problem. I was trying to answer both of you, but I didn't make it clear which answer was for which question, sorry! I definitely feel like I've heard of this issue before but I can't remember what the fix is. Anyone else know?

Oh another thing you can try is this: right-click on the shortcut to Arcanum that's on your desktop. In the "target" field you'll see something like "c:\blah\blah\arcanum.exe". Add "-no3d" to this field, OUTSIDE the quotes and with a space between, so it reads:

"c:\blah\blah\arcanum.exe" -no3d

Then run the game from that shortcut and see if it fixes your mouse issues.

Thanks mate :) Dont think I was charging against you, I was about others and about the person who instead creating a post like I did, makes an invasion.

I will try right now.

PS The problem also happens in Master of Orion 2, so 2 games of 2 with the same problem.

Fionn76 - I'm really sorry that I INVADED you - and I'm also sorry that you are so simple minded about it. Think about clutter in forums. But I understand you POV so next time I will make sure that I avoid you in forums ;)

Anyway nothing really helped. It's just weird. Maybe some rare bug or something - who knows.
Either way I didn't really got into the game so I won't be buying. I would really like to love this game but I just can't. Story isn't engaging enough for me, there are plot holes, whole game is unbalanced and combat is just awful. Or maybe I should just leave it for winter time...
Meeting snide with snide helps nobody. Y'all just be nice, okay?
