Hey,

Is the XP-cap remover compatible with the Unofficial Fan Patch and the High Resolution Patch?

Thanks in advance!

On a sidenote, I'm doubting between a warriormage and a gunslinger/armourer...

Yes, to both. I usually install the unofficial patch before the cap remover, just in case. But I don't think that it'll make a difference if you do it the other way around.

And my preferred build is a warrior mage, without followers. (That way I don't have to keep telling them to hold back, so I can get ALL THE XP by fighting everything myself!)

Thanks. I went with the Gunslinger in the end. I played a warrior-mage before. Enormous fun, but perhaps a bit on the easy side.

You're welcome. I've yet to finish a game as a gunslinger; I keep getting sidetracked by all the other things a tech character needs to worry about (healing, components, bullets, etc.) and frustrated by how difficult it is to find/build a decent firearm and become a decent shot.
If you want an easier time as tech character, might I suggest starting tech melee then branching out into guns? Imho the problem with guns is that they are sadly underpowered until very late game, even compared to other tech builds and bullets weigh a fair bit in bulk so carrying them all before you get your strength up is frustrating. Not to mention that at the rate you go through them, either a) buying them all gets expensive or b) you find the bullet schematic and spend all your time scouring trash cans for the neccesary parts, still getting only a few bullets per craft. If you start with melee it will give you a fall back while you wait to find all the worthwhile gun schematics and build up ammo supply. Then you can use guns to back up hirelings while still having the safety net of strong melee in case you run out of ammo, gun breaks, or the mobs just ignore your meat shields to come after you etc.

Oh, I know HOW to play one; it just annoys me to no end that (especially since I tend not to bother with followers) I have to play until at least around level 30 before I have a decent build. It's one of the few things that annoys me about this game: the difficulty gap between magic and tech is so large, it's almost a game-breaker.

Hahaha ain't that the truth. I just thought it might help in case you weren't familiar with playing tech, a lot of people seem to have trouble with it but go straight for a gunner build and end up wondering why it is so dang hard. Tbh though my half-ogre techie is by far my favorite character, some npc's reactions to a "smart" half-ogre were laughable :)
