I finally got the mods to work for this game. I'm going to get to it after i play a little bit more of the White March in PoE. I want to be a firey bomb throwing anarchist. Is there anything y'all recommend for that kind of build? I played the game several months ago for a lil while but gave up on account of difficulty witht the mods. From what I read I just pump up dexterity and I'll be solid I guess.
You may wanna work on Pick Pockets so you can plant explosives on people too.

For bombs you will want the explosives tech discipline and throwing skill. You can use a boomerang as a backup weapon when you don't want to waste a bomb. Dexterity will be your main stat plus Intelligence if you want to learn to make higher-tier bombs. It's actually a pretty easy tech build. Bombs will not harm you or your followers even if you throw them right at your feet, and they will knock enemies away from you to boot. Stun grenades are amazing -- you can throw a bunch of molotovs and then, right before your combat turn ends, throw a stun bomb to make the enemy lose its next turn, then repeat.

Be sure to search garbage cans for materials for bomb-making. You just need a rag and some fuel to make the basic molotov cocktail.

As for being anarchist, you can do that mostly through your choices in-game (what to say to others, etc.). If you want to build your own anarchist movement, consider investing in Charisma to let you recruit a lot of followers. Persuasion might be fun from a role-playing standpoint, if you want to try to talk others into being anarchists too.

That is some solid advice. Other than grenades are there any tech throwing weapons?

I think some boomerangs are tech weapons. They're machined, or balanced, or some other tech-type engineering to make them fly better, or something. Chakrams tend to be the magical throwing weapons, often coming with enchantments of some type.

My memory is that there aren't too many throwing weapons in the game, but they're really useful because they offer ranged attacks, don't use ammo, and don't get damaged when attacking certain monsters the way melee weapons do. The downside is you won't be upgrading your weapon very often, but if you invest in Intelligence so you can make fancier bombs, you'll still have some cool things to throw at your enemies.

Oh and your advice about pickpocket skill is cool too... dynamite is one of the more powerful things in the Explosives discipline, but it's not thrown, so planting it on someone is an effective (and amusing!) alternative.
If you're going to go the Explosives route, I say do it all the way. The higher level grenade weapons are amazingly fun. Concussion grenades, tranquilizer grenades, electro grenades...you have a huge array of items to choose from. As others have mentioned, that's before you even get to planted explosives, which can also be used to blow up doors and windows and other such things...

Your skill in other tech colleges will determine whether or not you can build some of these. Buy lots of manuals.

It won't be hard, because Explosives experts are the best money-earners in the game, with wealth generation skills challenged only by master thieves. You should be richer than Gilbert Bates by the end because, unlike him, you can transmute garbage into money.

As for other thrown weapons for tech characters...well, I hesitate to mention it, but there is one mysterious weapon known only as...The Aerial Decapitator. But no, I shouldn't have said anything. It's probably only a legend...

Well, thanks. As if I haven't started up enough new games and done nothing with them now I gotta make a throwing tech guy. XD
