So amazing that I had to take a screenshot

To clarify the obvious: Morrawynd (the elf girl) = Morrowind, the country from the dark elves of the Elder Scrolls series (and also part of the title The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind)

Frondo (the halfling) = Frodo from The Lord of the Rings

The not-so-obvious: Jyheirad = Jaheira, the elven druid from Baldur's Gate series (I don't know what the armored knight has to to with an elven druid chic, but the internet says so...)

R'yn-Diak = No idea, probably not part of the easter egg

lol :)
I think the best easter egg is the super powerful vorpal bunny.
I love this one. Especially the fact that you can send them into the cave to get the treasure instead of you. Is Flame Keep a reference to anything? Candlekeep?
I thought the smurf one was pretty good. The location on the world map with mushrooms where you have little blue guys who just killed a wizard and his cat...
The Old Blind Master(Aerial Decapitator quest) killing chickens. It's from a really cheesy(in a good way) kung fu flick 'Master of the Flying Guillotine'.
This easter egg is made a bit funnier due to Arcanum coming out a year before Morrowind.
I know this is an old topic but why do games fear doing this anymore. It seems when they do they get reamed by people about ruining "immersion". I miss he days when games were just made to be fun. Now they are an art form and are being destroyed by the same people who make movies. Even the Indie scene is not as good as I would wish, it is great. I guess I am just an old gamer who likes to complain and play his centipede.

What's better than the easter egg is the conversation choices with the adventurers.

"This is the real world, not some fantasy!" or some such.

Been playing Fallout New Vegas recently (yeah, I know, not everybody's favorite) and they DID include the option of Easter eggs with the "Weird West" trait you can choose at the beginning of the game. If you don't choose it none of the weird Easter eggs occur. So that would be a good way of doing it in the future for video games if there is truly a large subset of players terrified of breaking "immersion".
Arcanum is full of great easter eggs but they don't beat you over the head with constant silliness.

Ultimate List of Easter Eggs - Terra Arcanum

I love how so many of the portraits are based on real people, characters, and staff members.
