I bought this game in a bundle, as It seemed to have generally positive reviews, so I thought, I'll give it a shot.
The game starts, You control this little dude with glasses, the game itself looks like a not very pretty snes game,
Plays a little like a zelda game, you run around, doing not very interesting puzzles, in caves and there seems to be a sad lack of story and characters.
Is that it? Is there anything else going on? What am I missing? Right now this is the most underwhelming experience I ever got from a GOG.com game. Please tell me what makes this game enjoyable to you, I'd really like to know What am i just not getting.

Multimedia poetry. There isn't much more to explain. It's not a Zelda clone any more than Tourette's Quest, or than Discrimination Pong is a sports game or Operation Pedopriest is an action game. Yep, the gamecard description is super misleading, but that's marketing for you.
Oh, I shouldn't but I will. You're not missing anything really. The barely-there story doesn't get any better and the characters remain as distant and uninteresting throughout. Anodyne is a highly subjective game. If you like some spotty platforming with a dose of mild exploration (more so at the end), you might enjoy it. If you want something resembling a "traditional" game, you will be sorely disappointed. Yet, the word 'disappointment' seems lenient, in my own personal hate-filled opinion. It is what it is and doesn't deviate from that...except for that one town...
The story is vague for a reason. The game is actually pretty good despite some downright stupid jumping puzzles later on. It's not particularly long and I wouldn't bother trying to achieve everything though. Just remember to talk to everyone multiple times, it really helps with understanding the game later on.
I didn't mind the vague story. I wish there was more to it but the ending was ok. Didn't make up for the lack of story but was ok. If you like ok endings then play through it, don't get your hopes up though... it's just ok...

ok?

Having though about it, I actually quite like ok. I think ok is good.
