because the screenshots on the page are 4:3, i think anno 1503 is in the gog-version still with the old resolutions, right?

but what's with anno 1602, can i play it with a resolution like 1920x1200?

There's worryingly little info about it available, but there are some people that tried something on https://www.annozone.de/forum/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=13214&pageNo=1
Seems like 1503, and probably 1602 as well aren't going to let themselves be run in a widescreen resolution without a fight.
yes, thanks and i knew that thread from annozone but it's an older one, maybe someone here with the gog-version of the game can test it or knows if it works.
Is there a way to play this in window mode not fullscreen?

Edit:
I found answer to my question. If anyone curious you need to add /w to startup.exe like this C:\GOG Games\Anno 1503 AD\ 1503Startup.exe" /w. And you need to force it to 16bit color mode.

Cemacar, can you give any more details? The switch works to get it to start in windowed mode, but I can't find any way to force the program into 16bit color. All I've got as an option is 'Run in 256 colors'.
I actually got it working widescreen :) But not 1920x1080 - it's scaled, but at least it fills the whole screen.

So the bad news first - I'm afraid it may not (or may?) help those with different hardware.
But the Thing-To-Do™ was to go to Intel HD Graphics Control Panel (through rmb on desktop for example).
Going to Display and make sure scaling is ticked Scale Full Screen. Center Image, I ticked Override Application Settings.
That's that.

I remember getting some support from Gog to another game and they pointed me to the scaling option once.
Now, you need to know this will affect not just Anno 1503 but all applications, so use at your own discretion...
I'm thinking using Override only when playing this game.
