I have installed Anno 1503 ,then started.
New game, loading screen comes, the loading bar runs through to the end and then nothing more happens.

The game is stuck in the loading screen.

System Win 10.

Can someone give me a hint how I can fix this?

Addendum : The campaign is working fine, during free play the game stays in the loading screen when the loading bar is full.

I've had the same problem - running it as admin seemd to solve it

I had the same problem. I downloaded voodoo2 and installed the ms folder and the cpl folders. I then loaded regedit and went to Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Layers.
I then deleted the line with 1503 startup. I also turned off all the compatibility settings in the games property sheet.

It then worked like magic.

In voodoo 2 you need to keep the resolution on original. If you try to make it bigger it will limit the mouse to the area of the original resolution so you won't be able to access 3/4 of the screen. The video card needed to be geforce 9800gt
