The only area I can't get by is the doorlord. Is it behind him? If so, is there a pattern to beat him, as I see he has about 150,000 hp? Thanks for your help.

Do not fight the Doorlord. He is isn't meant to be beaten: he is meant to be blackmailed. I'm quite sure Fatima suggests you ask around to find out how to get in without fighting the Doorlord.

If you want the proper solution, consult this walkthrough: http://www.gamefaqs.com/pc/196605-anachronox/faqs/23678

Er, that's only true in the beginning of the game. If you come back to the mystech mines later on the doorloor is off in a side area as an optional boss.

And no, you don't have to fight him to get the Laserblade. Bring Stilletto along with you and look high up on the walls - there should be a switch you can hit with throw loonie (might need to be master level). That opens up a panel at the very start of the mines with the laserblade.

If you want a go at the doorlord, he's vulnerable to stun attacks, so the usual strategy is to bring Paco and Democratus and use their stunning bouges whenever his stun wears off. If your timing is right the battle is relatively easy, if tiresomely long.

Did you beat him? I just finished the game without being capable of defeating the doorlord (I thought it was not possible).

I would like to know if someone did actually defeat him. Every time I managed to give him a good fight he ended up sending a 10k hit points attack to all my characters (killing them, of course).

I've beaten him. Mostly by keeping him stunned (and trying several times until I got lucky with the timing). Beating him gets you a shieldcell that can hold 999 NRG, has 999 throughput, and a shield that can be put up to 999 (and I *think* it also makes you immune to statuses? Can't remember for sure). To be honest, though, it's not really worth the hassle of fighting him, unless you just want to say you've done it. By the time you're powerful enough to pull it off, the shieldcell is more of a keen novelty than a crucial addition to your setup. So it's like most overpowered optional boss drops, really.

Thanks for you reply. I've already finished the game but may be I will give it a try and go after him just for fun.

And thanks for the tips!
