I'm perfectly willing to accept this is just me, but the camera movement, in game and during cutscenes, FOR ME, is very jerky.

I've just upgraded ati drivers to 12.2 yesterday.. I'll try earlier ones.

First reboot sound went crazy. :/ Second reboot fixed sound and made game a little less jerky.

IF you're having any trouble, it seems that setting your own AA and Anisostropic setting makes it a lot better.

I also notice jerky movement...a bit of a pain really.

Anyone with the jerky movement problem can create the file '%APPDATA%\GOG\Anachronox\Config.ini' and enter the two lines

[Misc]
Fps=200

Or if 200 doesn't work, try either going higher or dropping it down to 59. You can find out where %APPDATA% is by typing 'echo %APPDATA%' into a command prompt. It's normally 'C:\Users\<yourname>\AppData\Roaming' on win7.

Hey, I'm having the same problem, but when I go to my appdata\roaming\ directory, I have no Gog folder. I have several games installed from there, but no GOG. Ideas? any help would be appreciated

Just create the folder yourself.

I can't find that Config.ini - yes, I'm looking at the specified place. Did GOG changed something since release? Do I need to re-download the game?

Edit: It seems creating that file there worked. Thanks :)

Well, it seemed the "fix" that worked for me was starting the game from the "GCT Setup" program, and not from the desktop shortcut created by the installer, so I edited the shortcut to run GCT Setup.exe instead of anox.exe. Go figure.

Now the only outstanding issue is NPCs moving about while in their "idle/standing" animations. Like Doyle the Bouncer, who sometimes moves by walking, but mostly by hovering around with his arms folded across his chest, like some beefy, techno-noir George Jetson wearing an anti-gravity belt.

Could you still access your old save games when running the game from GCT Setup? I can't.

Running from the setup will probably result in the game running as admin. If you've installed to program files, that'll mean that the file visualisation will suddenly turn off. If you copy the save games back from the virtualstore (C:\users\<yourname>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore) back to the real program files folder, you should be able to continue.

And stop installing games to program files. It never works out well. :/

Couldn't GOG simply change the default installation dir to C.\games\ or something?

What do you mean "old" save games? I can access the save games I saved when I started a game from the GCT Setup prompt, but I didn't really save anything when running from the original shortcut because I was trying to sort out the jerking.

Hello, been fiddling with this a lot yesterday trying to fix the stuttering but to no avail. I've tried placing the .ini file in the main anachronox folder as well the User- Appdata- Roaming- GOG folder and neither seemed to alleviate the stuttering. Apologies, not super computer savvy.

[Edit] Tried running the game in Win 98 compatibility as mentioned in another thread, works fine now.
