I'm playing this on a macbook air and I'm getting one major problem, I can't use the trackpad for shit to play it.

As in, the slightest movement will send the in-game arrow flying into one of the corners. Even if I do it just right the arrow has to be steered awkwardly.

Anyone has any idea what's causing this problem? I'll look for my mac's mouse and try with it to update, but for the meanwhile I'd really like to know if the issue is known, and if so it there is a workaround.

Tried plugging a mouse, still too sensitive to use. And I turned the sensitivity as low as it gets.

Weirdly, I had the original Anachronox installed by CD not long ago. It DIDN'T have this problem. I gave up on that because plugging a CD drive was a pain and for the hell of me I couldn't make any no-cd crack work...

I hoped GoG was the solution, but until this arrow (or should I say, Fatima?) sensitivity problem is solved, not really.

Try this, go into :

Install folder (Anachronox) > anoxdata > configs

Open ascript3.cfg with whatever text editor a Mac uses (This would be notepad on a Windows machine)

Scroll to the bottom and near the bottom you will see a line that says :

Set Sensetivity 6

Try lowering the value there to 1 or 2, then save before exiting and try it out

If you are running on a Windows Virtual Machine I would try turning off mouse acceleration in the Windows control panel. There is a mouse bit in there, you can also slow the mouse down in the same bit.

There may also be a bit for the touchpad in there which will allow you to reduce sensetivity.

I think it was released on the Mac at somepoint but they are Windows versions from GOG, just wasnt sure how you were running it on Mac.

If you have a license for Windows you can run Vista or 7 through Boot Camp I believe it is called. Gives full Windows functionality which would be ideal for running games. Basically it lets you dual boot with the Mac OS and is incorporated into the OS so you dont have to pay any extra for using it.

If you have mouse pointer integration on, try turning it off. It doesn't work too well on fullscreen applications.

Yep, that did the trick. I even found a page specifying how you can go around editing VMware to work it out.
