I just started the game and was told that I should level up my lockpick skill. Problem is I can't figure out how to do it. I just read the manual and didn't see anything about this in it.

Help would be appreciated.

Don't worry about it for now. There is only one level up for the characters' basic skill, and that is acquired fairly late in the game. When you've almost finished the game and still couldn't get the Master lock pick ability, come back here. :D

Thank you. So this isn't like a "normal" RPG where every time you level up you distribute points to various skills? Mmmmm. Kind of disappointing.

Either way interesting game and I'll keep at it, at least for a while. Getting a bit sick of "fetch" quests.

Character leveling works like it does in classic Japanese-style RPGs, where characters health and other stats increase automatically, without asking the player to distribute points. But there is still a lot of room for player input into the characters through the Mystech system, which you will discover later on. And there's also plenty of enjoyment to be had from other parts of the game... the RPG system is certainly lighter than in many other RPGs but Anachronox makes up for it with a lot of charm in its world and characters.

Hello everybody i'm new in this forum (i'm from belgium)

I played anachronox lately in around 2003, but replayed it a few weeks ago.... and finally could finish it .... as in more or less 10 years my english improved enough to understand and appreciate greatly and under a new point of view this wonderful game

Well, my question is the same as this topic, i finished the game.

/!\/!\/!\ SPOILER /!\/!\/!\

but i couldn't get the master skill for Boots (crack door with high difficulty level)

apparently we need to accomplish the quests from the inspector to get it, 4 on anachronox and 2 on sender station....

BUT

the 1st quest from the inspector on anachronox when you have to check the lifecursor in the tennements building is OK, but they the inspector disappear from anachronox and you only find him back on sender station where he asks you to take the picture of the dead body in routubes.... but nohting else (even if there is another dead body in red light distric)

and after that when Detta got power in anachronox, the inspector is not back on the planet so how to solve the 3 quests left in anachronox

i really would like to replay the game and be able to open all doors ...

Does anyone have a soluce for that ?? or is it a bug ?

First of all the Rukh quests are not all required to get the Master Lockpick skill. Each independent quest has a good individual reward and is worth doing. I could be wrong, but I don't think each quest has to be completed to get the one you want. But you should do them anyway.

The only quest that will give you the Master Lockpick skill is the one down in the Red Light District. It's been a while for me, but I'm pretty sure that it happens after you visit Hephaestus and go down to the Red Light District on Sender Station. You will find Rukh there. He will ask for your help to find a Tetra dealer. You'll have to start talking to others to proceed from here. I won't spoil it any further for you.
