the game has no DX12 option for me. not in the game directory and i do not have the option in the extended options in GOG galaxy for a different executable. matter of fact there is no "extended launch options" option at all. game is up-to-date

OK, this is way to complicate.
In Galaxy:
1. go the game
2. manage installation
3. configuration
4. The feature tab
5. check launch parameters
6. There should be option with the parameter -dx12, you can select as default executable. Otherwise you have to create launch configuration by your own
