Hello,

Pretty much as the title says. Upon installing the game, i get a mere second of my cursor turning into loading circle and then that's that.
It pops up in the Task manager for a brief moment and it immediately disappears again.
I dont know what else to describe. Like, there isnt more. No error codes, no weird other behavior, nothing but just instantly closing.

I obviously am asking, how fix?

from pcgamingwiki for this game, try this:

Game won't get past the launcher
Reinstall Nvidia PhysX Legacy System Software

I got the same issue. Just bought it on GOG after seeing the video where they said "it can start now" just to find out that it can't start. I expected the game to come fully patches and bootable.

Does this work for the AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT GPU as well, or it works for Nvidia GPUs, only? I would like to know that.

Bump
Tried reinstalling the Nvidia legacy software, and it still will not load up for me, flashes black, comes back, flashes again, and straight doesn't load. Anything else that can be done? I loved this game for PS3, and if my PS3 still worked, I'd play it more.

I also have these exact crash symptoms and have also tried reinstalling the Nvidia software. The game won't launch on either my Nvidia or AMD system. To whomever controls the forum flagging: This issue is not solved yet.
Quick question. Is there a way to manually set the resolution? On my ultrawide, I can't see how to accept changes to resolution and fullscreen mode, so I'm sort of stuck unable to play at all. Appreciate it.

Under Documents\Alpha Protocol\APGame\Config, open the file APEngine.ini and look for the entries "ResX" and "ResY". Put the desired resolution in there. Let me know if it works. I haven't tried it myself.

Appreciate the response. Gave this a shot but still had the same issues of not seeing the parts of the screen that might tell me how to accept the graphics setting changes in the menu.
Have you tried this? https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Alpha_Protocol#Ultra-widescreen

In the menu there are just these two options. You can choose with arrow keys.

Appreciate it, I actually don't get that second screenshot menu in the center of the screen when I change resolution. Let me take a look at the first option. Thanks again.

For what it's worth, finally got it to work. Reinstalled GOG (thanks baxdens) and then made sure to use the controller . Didn't realize X was the Apply button but I gave it a shot when A didn't work and it did the trick. Appreciate all the help here, thanks again.

The game launcher has issues. Try launching the game manually by running APGame.exe from the binaries folder. The game is also picky about PhysX. As previously mentioned you need the legacy PhysX installed. Also you might need to copy the file PhysXLoader.dll from the PhysX installation folder to the game binaries folder if the game cannot locate it.
