Thank you GOG for the great free game, and the ability to help you test out some of the features of the upcoming Galaxy. I booted up the game and played a bit of single player with no problems at all. I then went to the multiplayer and had one error on the first try connecting to a game. I quickly tried again and had no problems that time, or any of the two or three times after. I was able to connect quickly and get in the game and start getting killed very quickly and easily. lol My only question or concern would be, as a few other users have mentioned, the speed at which the game seems to run. I never got a chance to play the original game at the time of release on a pc meeting the game requirements, so I'm not sure if the player moves so fast with all three different species of characters by default, or if it is because my pc now far exceeds the games requirements. In the end, the speed is a small and trivial issue that I can see myself get adjusted to fairly quickly. Thanks again for the great game and the opportunity. I appreciate the team at GOG and the ethics you all stand behind. - Rascal Randall
I can agree with your sentiments here! The running is game wide though. Even back in the day it was quick movement all around (By memory) and I can agree with dying a lot in multiplayer! LOL!
Yeah, it works perfect. Played multiplayer for over 2 hours.
BTW, Aliens are OP.
edit: speed of the game is set by host. I joined host with 70% speed. It was good.

Actually, they are not. They are probably the easiest race to start off with, true, but they have the highest skill ceiling than the other two races.

Yes, i have to agree. I myself almost never used wall climbing tactics and never saw other players doing it. Just was running like mad, and 1-shot kill dudes with tail. :)

Start a game in a really dark level like Fossil, and allow only 1 alien and the rest marines with only pistols. As the alien, use stealth and surprise and force the marines to work together to win. Much more fun than just running and gunning.

That's actually how all the movies worked. The aliens were no match for fully armed marines, they always used their environment to their advantage. Remember the scene in the reactor?

Ripley: "So, if they fire their weapons in there, won't they rupture the cooling system?"
Burke: "So you're talkin' about a thermonuclear explosion and "Adiós, muchachos."
Gorman: Oh, great. Wonderful."

Actually i played exactly this mode yesterday. Thanks to the dude who hosted it - enjoyed every bit of it. Game started with 1 alien and marines, teamed up against alien. Killed marine becomes an alien. Problem is killed aliens respawn and it is kind of unfair towards marines - you are pretty much screwed.
Multiplayer ran very smooth and was able to find available games very quickly.
I'm another one here. My only criticisms would be game related, the multiplayer functions worked ideally. My antivirus wasn't bothered by it, nothing.
Yeah, I played a game earlier and it worked fine. Fun.
