Aliens vs Predator Classic 2000 is one of my favorite games of all time, and I'm really glad to see it here on GOG. I thought I'd share a couple useful things:

First of all, check out my FAQ. It's not a walkthrough, rather it's an extensive rundown of all the mechanics and features of the game. And not just the basics, either. This is a very useful guide for anyone, noobs and vets alike, and even features a section detailing various Alien speed exploit techniques (not written by me).

Finally, I quick tip: newbies should really play at least a little bit of singleplayer before jumping into multiplayer. AvPC2K is unlike pretty much every other FPS out there, and it takes a little time to get use to.
