I just loaded the game, set it to 1024 X 768 X 32 graphics, started a new game, changed the difficulty to hard and my whole system crashed. No Ctrl-Alt-Del, no Alt-TAB, nothing. I had to hit the reset button. I tried it again in 800 X 600 and it seemed to work fine. I guess I'll have to play it at a lower res, unless someone knows of a fix. thanks

Erm, any chance you can help us out here with some system specs? CPU, GPU, RAM, OS, etc.
lol....sorry about that. I made the original post at way too early in the morning.

Intel quad core 2.33Ghz
ATI radeon 4600 512MB
4GB Ram
windows XP pro SP 2

If you need any additional info, please let me know. I really dont know what I'm doing concerning fixing this type of stuff. I do not want to go to SP3 however since the software I have for work will not work with it....:(

Thank you
did you set core affinity to 1?
Have you tried any compatibility modes (as set using the shortcut or the exe)?

You can right-click the process in the Task Manager and select "Affinity..." to disable/enable cores. This is only temporary but if it works, there are apps to patch your .exe to make the change permanent.

I believe that you can run apps with single core affinity via a custom shortcut. It's something I researched before I got my Vista machine two years ago, though haven't actually tried myself yet as I've not needed to. To cut the instructions down, see the below example:

Create a shortcut with path similar to the following:

C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /C START "Tomb Raider" /d "C:\Program Files (x86)\Tomb Raider - Legend" /high /affinity 1 "C:\Program Files (x86)\Tomb Raider - Legend\trl.exe"

This runs a game (in this case Tomb Raider Legend) via the command prompt, with high priority and using the 1st core only.
Hi
I am playing AS2:R on my notebook. Everything is fine until i reach mission 12, when game randomly crashes with blue-screen effect (Notebokk restarts). I tried everything (starting from reinstalling the game, starting from beginning, changing in-game graphic options and compatibiity modes) to fix that but nothing helps - game still bluescreened me in this certain mission (it is the one where You have to download data from 5 terminals). Crase most often happens in first fight with swarm (where u r assisted by 2 battle-bots) but if i manage to avoid that (somehow) it crashes another time when i am fighting. It never occurs in earlier missions (don't know about later ones).
My specs are:
Intel Core 2 CPU
T5500 1,66GHz, 0,99GB RAM
with Mobile Intel 945GM Express Chipset Family

P.S> I don't know it matters but i am playing shotgunner (i always chnge weapon in mid to late mission 11 when i can afford red shotgun worth ~120K (very fast shooting one).
