Alien Shooter 2: Reloaded
An expanded version of the game was released, titled Alien Shooter: Reloaded which featured the addition of few new levels, simplified role-playing system and a several minor changes. This version was created in order to make the game more suitable for shareware distribution (with the size of only 400 Mb). Voice-overs were, however, cut from this release, but still could be restored if the folder "speech" is moved into the game's directory from the original "Alien Shooter: Vengeance".

So, my question is, can we get the speech folder for this game on GOG?
You mean, does the GOG.com release of Alien Shooter have a speech folder?

Partly. The second game is on my wishlist (will be purchased and downloaded very soon) so I cannot yet tell if it has the speech folder or not.

However, I would believe that GOG's package doesn't contain the speech folder simply because it is the 'Reloaded' version of the game, which according to Wikipedia does not have the speech folder because the game size was cut down for ease of distribution.

So, does GOG's installer have the speech folder? If it does then that's great. If it doesn't, do we therefore have to get the 'Vengeance' version in order to get the speech folder or can we get it either from the kindness of those here who do have the 'Vengeance' version who can provide the speech folder or can GOG obtain it as one of their bonus downloads for the game?
GOG's release of Alien Shooter 2 does indeed have the Speech folder in the game directory. They are all Ogg Vorbis audio clips (and they sound a bit crackly on my set of codecs).

Cheers for that Irenaeus. :)
I'm downloading the game right now. I actually had a friend copy the speech folder for me, but thanks to Irenaeus I don't have to wait until I've tested the game to find out if I need to hold onto it. Off to the recycling bin you go, speech folder.

I've played quite a bit of Vengeance and really want to find out what's new in Reloaded. These last 60 MB of the game can't download fast enough.
Thanks for the info :)
Ho does 2 compare to 1? I finished 1 a few months ago and was hoping that 2 was more of the same (in a good way).
In 2, they've introduced a revised inventory and shop system, a character progression system like in a role-playing game, tons of new weapons, a storyline with NPCs and primary and secondary objectives, a better graphics engine, and vehicles (which are a lot of fun to use). I strongly prefer 2 to 1, but tastes vary of course. :)

1 was fairly mindless, but it was a great way to blow off some steam. I guess I'll have to try the new and improved stuff they added on to 2.
