Greetings to everyone!

- GOG's Alien Shooter is out of date! Steam version is the best, as it received bug fixes among other cool things...
- Alien Shooter 2 from GOG and Steam are the same version;
- Zombie Shooter from GOG and Steam are the same version;
- GOG's Zombie Shooter 2 is out of date! Steam version received a full HD resolution update, and apparently some bug fixes here and there.

I can't say anything about the ZOOM Platform versions, because I didn't test them. And I also haven't tested the other games in the series, so I don't know if there are differences between Steam and ZOOM. If anyone has tested these versions, let us know about any differences. =)

Ladies and gentlemen, here are the references:

Note: Zombie Shooter on Steam is from 2016 and on GOG from 2018, however, they are the same version 1.2.

I hope some GOG moderator/curator sees this and contacts the Sigma Team so these games can be updated.
GOG customers DESERVE THIS ATTENTION!

Thank you and best regards! ;)

No. GOG version superior. Not look to dates, look to content and real features. Applied to whole software. Newer =/= better, never was and by default its opposite.

Steam updates first make them completely differ games. Already enough argument to call GOG version superior.
No need to fixes here, but new versions get more bugs. No they not implement proper widescreen support and higher fps, its same as old bruteforce methods with increased glitches and reduced compatibility.
New secrets/secrets system broken. old secrets replaced

New update are steamworks api and with steamworks DRM. If it go to GOG its happen like else games come from Steam - as cracked "back-ported" releases. +Galaxy requirements for achievements but that only one which is real new content and improvment. Did galaxy-achievments cost everything else come with it? GOG (offline) get entirely nothing if its come here.

Steam version have DLCs as DLC and outdated to GOG version. with updates its first like updated. DLC didnt work, but that been fixed. So steam version back then kinda did require some updates and it get it. Not really require, old DLCs work, it was just nominally older than GOG build. First of must look at did it work. Steam was work as intended. Wo no reauirements for updates. GOG version now work as independent - no need to update.
If it was just achievments support and not change half of the levels (literally, at least 50% game content are differ now, if not more) - it be a good update. But its not.

Cant say for ZOOM-Platform too. I guess its same as GOG.

Steam's Alien Shooter with the DLCs is better than the GOG version, all the way. To give you an idea, I received an unexpected closure in some missions, and no error was shown and nothing in the log was recorded, the game simply closed. With the Steam version I didn't have these problems. Detail: Both versions were tested on the same PC with the same operating system, etc. And according to: https://www.gog.com/forum/alien_shooter_series/secrets_alien_shooter_1

It seems like the GOG version is the one that lacks secrets, or messed them up. If two people reported this, we must take it into consideration.

Regarding Zombie Shooter 2, I had no performance issues or bugs in the Steam version. The graphics even look better due to the Full HD resolution. Sigma Team definitely did a good job with the ZS 2.

Well, anyway, the GOG version has its charm and is valid for historical issues. GOG could update all AS and ZS and keep the old installers, this is not difficult to do, and the (legacy) installers would come along with the updated versions. ;)
Which issue reported? There is no issue reported there.

GOG version require updates? No. Everything work. Steam version was work as indendent and only DLC reauire purchase. But for secrets its no more. Old one removed, new one not all obtainable.
Half of the levels are changed.
Windescreen and HD support are zoomout, not a proper fix. Game logic intended to be 4:3, seen farest decrese difficulty and require replace some levels content which was 50% done.

For what? For update without update to pose as still supported game? Its wrong behaviour especially for singleplayer games.
And there is many users cheer that behaviour and we got conveyer games and updates in game industry. Just great.

Also Steam lost manuals both in ingameS folders and store pages (probably obtainable by Internet Web Archive direct link to pdf). There is one pdf file for ZS1 as i remember on two game pages and else games lost manual links entirely.

It's clear they're talking about the GOG version, and making it clear that the Steam version there are secrets that are missing from the GOG version. The OP didn't mark it as an "issue", but it's clear the complaint is about an issue he noticed and certified via guide which he cited

As I said before, GOG needs to contact Sigma Team to update these games: AS1 and ZS2; and for those who like the legacy version, GOG just has to keep the old installers. This will please both sides! Those who like the updated versions and those who like the old versions. ;)

But OP didnt say he have issues. Because he stated he cant find secrets (unlike most ppl nowadays he complains about his himself issues and not blame game for it). Then he stated he cant find proper guide. I answer him to look better in steam hub, there was dublicate guides and only one of them got uldated at some time before thread created. I suggest double check again every guide there. And look out of steam hub if nothing there - there is such guides.

Not only there was no issue, OP didnt said there is. Although didnt said there is not. If he did he would failed that, but we cant blame him for what he didnt (yet).
Neither we can blame a game for what game do not failed. Or GOG version regarding now this one thread here.

It is new version issue harder to find secrets without guides. Not real issue of course, we cant blame game for it. But we can blame that it was old secrets replacement. Still that one OP stop noticing secrets as i also understand in GOG version and he did look to very first guide on Steam. Didnt open the guides list i suppose, just look at it very first recently popular preview page, whih is RECENTLY popular.
