I'm very disappointed in GoG. :( There are SO many problems with this release.
Firstly, unless I scroll VERRRRY slowly there is a glitch where some buildings stay normal but everything else is tiled and glitched. Annoying.
Secondly the music doesn't work, which I knew before buying but ONLY through the forums, not because GoG noted this. It should have done, especially since it mentions the in-game soundtrack on the page as an extra and thus we would assume is a) exists and b) is lovely
Thirdly, the in-game soundtrack mp3s are TERRIBLE quality. Constantly jumping around and skipping, repeating. Such a shame. Lovely music ruined. Can't even use this to make up for lack of in-game music as it's hard to relax knowing the music is about to skip. Such lovely relaxing music ruined.
I bought this because I a) couldn't find my disc (but know it is in the house and have seen it recently so wasn't really a NEED and b) knew it had compatibility problems with some Windows 7 machines and thought "ah GoG, known for making old programs compatible. Trustable, good ethics (DRM free) and good prices!"
Sad. :( I just really liked GoG before but feel let down and now whenever I recommend them I will have to include this experience.
Oh yes, and there are only two very low resolution options, I don't remember the disc version being so bad but maybe it was. I assume all of the glitches the original had are still there given the quality I've seen already of this release, which is sad. This could have been a chance to improve this relaxing game.
edit: I have attached an image of the glitch (which happens often)
there are enough complaints here that I don't think this is a rare problem, has anyone at all actually played it with zero problems?!
