Hi there.
I've got Win7 64 & gtx560 and game will crash immediately after running it. I get : "Unable to initialise graphics" and then "Could not find suitable video device. your video device doesn't provide at least 800x600x16 texture format 4444". I tried it in compatibility mode and as admin but it did not help.

I have exactly the same problem. I already tried upgrading my graphics drivers, but it did not help. :(
I have an Acer TravelMate 5542G with an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650, running on Windows 7 64bit.

EDIT:
I managed to get it to work by installing Windows XP 32-bit, so that I have native 32-bit DirectDraw support. Now the only remaining problem is a text glitch, which cuts e.g. the last lines of tutorial texts.

Warning: Installing Windows XP parallel to a modern version of Windows must be done very carefully, as Windows XP disables your previous OS. If anyone else wants to try this, he should google detailed instructions first!

I was able to get it running on Windows 7 64. You need to go to "C:\GOG Games\The Nations Gold\tools" run "tools.exe", then click "Troubleshooting", "Start", tick the box for "Resolution", tick "fix" set your computers native resolution (mine is 1920x1080), click "Save" and it should work and not only work, but play at your native res.
Runs great on Linux Fedora 31 KDE spin with Wine!
