Ok, I'll be honest, some years ago I would have thought that sounded pretty great. :)

But is that how it works, or did I just not wait long enough to let it wear off? I rested several times thinking that would "sleep it off", walked around for a while too thinking it would drop off. But eventually I got sick of it and had the healer take care of it, which was cheap, thankfully...

Of course this wasn't the usual "intoxication" we might think of - I picked it up in the final sequence of events in the dungeon outside the first town. So maybe that's the difference. Curious though, in case I run into this again at some point....

Really enjoying this game btw - older graphics or no, this is the kind of immersive-story RPG that really draws me in :)
I think that intoxication, poison, illness, etc. are permanent - they are cured by a spell or a potion or by paying a healer for a cure.
In your case, Sira has "Heal intoxication" spell or you can pay a healer (Rejira in the Dji-Kas guild).

Hey thanks for the reply. Yeah that's how it looks - like all the negative "state" effects like that are permanent . Good to know, thanks for the confirmation.

It does seem a little strange with intoxication specifically, but yeah it doesn't look like they have any "timers" for this stuff or that resting cures any adverse effects. Odd, but easy enough to take care of - yeah I just got Sira a bit after this, but I think it only cost 4 gold at the healer so no biggie either way.
