i havent finished the game, simply because when you get to a certain point late in the game that requires timed button pushing, its basically impossible to complete the pushing in the time given. Such bad controls just stop you dead in your tracks at that point of the game, not letting you progress due to horrific stupid "mini game" button pushing that isn't needed, required, or wanted, yet, its there to stop your gameplay dead.

Got fed up at that point, trying to do the ship button pushing to open doors. Useless, irritating, and made me mad enough to just stop playing.

There was a puzzle in the late game that I stumbled back when it was released, so I sent an email from my cousin's computer (i hadn't internet yet) to blue byte. And they did give me the solution.

I also asked if there was ever going to be an Albion 2, and they said Probably not:(

English uses sometimes blatant synonymes or misses a point in a conversation/text just by very scarce and tiny translations problems.

Funny fact: Albion is the game, I learned English (written/read) I was translating word by word using old dictionary. And just because I was deeply interested in each meaning / sentence I just learned to understand the meaning of the text. I had to, I was deeply in love with the whole world and the story and I had to understand it all.

The game has beautiful plot, and I wish all could go through it.

When playing first time, I got stuck already in Arjano. There was no internet (at least I had none) and PC magazines (Score/Level) could not cover such huge game as Albion (normally one could find there guides / walkthroughs for popular games)

Second time, I was consulting any problems with a friend, who finished the game, and here are the places I got stuck:
Kamulos (I could figure this one later myself, but it was a bit harder for me)
Umajo - here 3x -> Trying to figure out a password without subsequent assassination, then in the Guildmaster dungeon, then the Umajo desert.
Torronto - final dungeon.

I also had some minor problems, but mostly they needed only a bit more time to resolve.

I don't think so. It is such a difficult game.

I did actually! Around 1999 when a Czech gaming mag had it as a full game with a complete translation. It took me about 6 months of playing, thinking and dreaming about it. :) I was a kid and solved most puzzles as one: through the sheer power of brute force. (and not having access to internet)
I remember grinding so much that the final fight was finished in few turns and caught me by surprise - that's it? My party had 3 instant kill spells/weapons and I've tried to use it all on the big boss but they always failed. Felt cheap.

Other than that, it's one of my most treasured gaming experiences. I don't believe I've ever enjoyed any other game so much. It was the right game for me at the right time.

I bought the game once around 99. My local supermarket had magazines with a single game (LIke Albion Creatures or Whale's Voyage 2) and all infos, walktrough, tips, cheats etc. in it

for example, if you walk forward and hit a solid object like a counter, you can extend your "cursor" by another square. With this trick, you can pick up some items behind some merchant counters.

Funny enough, the Female Warrior as a companion was never mentioned in the guide so i skipped her until i found out several years later.

I bought the game in 1996 (earlier before I had the demo version). But without a walkthrough I was not able to go forther than Gratogel in the dungeon on Level 2, I did not realize that I have to break the stone wall with an axe.

I went to a local video game shop and I found for 20 DM (approx 10 €) a complete waltkrhough book. I bought it and I was so excited to come to the point I wasn't able to go further without the solution.

But, at many points in the game you get any hints of the caracters in your party, or other things you have to pay attention. Yes, it is not easy, but thats also something which makes the game great.
