It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

I downloaded the bonus material and another game without problems but the main download for Alan Wake results in an error and then a total crash of the downloader.

I'll try downloading through my browser.
I can't download the game through the GoG downloader, anerror message comes up saying I should send the logger to support and then the downloader crashes.
I'm sure they're working on fixing it right now; a short while ago I noticed that turning GOG downloader mode off showed 5x 2GB files and 1x 51MB file (which is obviously wrong; there should only be a small .exe installer, 4x 2GB data files and one smaller data file, total size ~8GB). Now it's showing a 2MB file, 4x 2GB files and 1x 51MB file. This may explain the corrupt files issue?
It's fixed! Downloader finally started to dl. Thanks!
Still not working for me. The downloader did start, but only downloaded 3gb of what should have been 8. Downloading the individual files wouldn't work either. They keep timing out.

This is ridiculous. I want a refund.
Yeah, now it downloads alright, but when I try to run the program it fails the integrity check and says it's corrupt. Atleast I get the option to skip the integrity check this time and go right to installation. Should I do so?
I downloaded AW without issue last night after Grah said it had been fixed and the installer verified all files successfully. Here are the filenames + sizes + MD5 hashes of the files I downloaded so you can compare them if you're still having issues:

setup_alan_wake_1.0.0.12.exe (2,346,587 bytes) 20853b2f02c9ca60db5f249ff65a0118

I got it, installed it and when I was about to start it I have an error saying that d3dx9_43.dll is missing.
I think you need to need to update DirectX. Try this: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109
Ok, redownloaded the entire thing. Still, did not work. I've also checked my harddrive for issues, yet nothing. I don't know what else I can do at this point...

Well, by default with Windows 7 I have DirectX 11 while the game require DirectX 9.
I searched in My computer for d3dx9_43.dll and it is there:
C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\18.0.1025.168
and there:

The installer I linked is for the latest version of DirectX 9.0c (June 2011). I run Windows 7 too but just because it has DX10/11 doesn't mean that DX9 doesn't need to be updated from time to time. Try it anyway; the worst that will happen is it'll make no difference.

Did you use the GOG.com Downloader or your browser to download the game? The GOG.com Downloader should verify the files it downloads so this doesn't happen, if you're still getting corrupt files despite that then something strange is happening... have you tried downloading from another PC? Also you might want to check the sizes/MD5 checksums of the files you downloaded with the info I posted earlier.

I've tried both the browser and the downloader, but both fail the integrity check. With the browser they fail instantly, while with the downloader, they scan for a few minutes (allowing me to skip the process if I so choose), reaches the end of the bar, before it fails.

I've not tried downloading from another PC, but this one has always worked for me before (both with GOG and other places).

The files I get look like this:

setup_alan_wake_1.0.0.12 (2 292 kB)
setup_alan_wake_1.0.0.12-1.bin (2 048 490 kB)
setup_alan_wake_1.0.0.12-2.bin (2 050 782 kB)
setup_alan_wake_1.0.0.12-3.bin (2 050 782 kB)
setup_alan_wake_1.0.0.12-4.bin (2 050 782 kB)
setup_alan_wake_1.0.0.12-5.bin (56 044 kB)

Thank you for the explanation. It seems to be sort of working :)
Now I get another error message that my graphics hardware doesn't support multi sample antialiasing.
Well, thank you for your time.

setup_alan_wake_1.0.0.12-5.bin (56 044 kB)
Those don't look right, they don't match what I downloaded (which passed the integrity check). I just redownloaded "setup_alan_wake_1.0.0.12.exe" and "setup_alan_wake_1.0.0.12-5.bin" to see if they've changed since I downloaded them last night but they're identical, so it seems to be some issue at your end that's causing it. Only things I can suggest right now are to try downloading from a different PC and/or maybe a different ISP? Aside from than that wait & see what GOG support has to say.

Looks like you'll need to upgrade your GPU before you can play then :(
