southern: Following on from Patch 1.4, Patch 1.5 has been released a decade later. You can easily find it in the Age of Wonders 2; Shadow Magic 'Heaven' website; for some reason GoG won't let me post the link.
It wasn't easy!
But I eventually found " Patch MP Evolution 1.5" which I guess it what you were talking about.

Not so; MP Evolution is a separate mod, whose latest version is 2.0 - I really recommend that one also. Find it here - http://aow2net.azurewebsites.net/mpe This mod comes with its own 'mod editor' which allows you to easily mod unit stats and abilities as well as a few other things

The Unofficial Patch 1.5 is at http://aow.heavengames.com/cgi-bin/forums/display.cgi?action=ct&f=29,5651,,60

I have no idea why it let me post the link this time

southern: patcho nuevo
Interesting.

Is there changelog somewhere and does it changes/improves a lot?

Also there is a reputation threshold for posting links. It's 6 or 7.
It is to prevent spam. That's why you weren't able to post links before but are now.

As far as I saw, Patch 1.5 changed the balance very little if at all and was more about adding new objects in the map editor. Sadly there is no changelog since the creators were under time pressures from 'real life'

So, I have downloaded and installed both Unofficial Patch 1.4 and 1.5. Do I have to use custom resource on the setup screen, if so, which one? Or just leave the custom resource unchecked?

I assume not - if you look in the dropdown and it only has 1.3, 1.4 and 'default' as options, then the default is 1.5

Right, thanks. That clears it up.

torusflux: I personally think its pretty damn amazing that such a sleeper-hit of a series had such a dedicated following to help carry the torch when the money/light goes out for the developers.
You not always can go and whipslash the developers to do it right... I personally think in these cases the company has to comply and offer some monetary agreement to the extra developing teams and individuals, because the costs the company thinks they saved like QA, more developers, creative resources, etc., were in fact transferred to the fan base. I am buying lots of games I find unplayable and not worth the effort but a simple effort having the sources would turn the game into a worthy purchase.
Can a mod put the link to unofficial patch v1.5 in the Open Post? (By the way, why is the patch so HUGE (over 200MB)?)

Besides: what is the official GOG version of the game? I need to match that with my retail version 1.30.0.2614.

So I installed UP1.4 and then 1.5 but when I start the game it still says it's 1.4. Is that normal?
Can I install 1.5 without 1.4 and does the game play in 1080p? Thanks
Any Answers at all.

Looks like there's a lot more in 1,4 the Resources folder from 1,5 is only one of the 1.4 ones
Indeed just read on Steam forums, that is the case
Unofficial Patch v1.4, is a patch for the game
UP v1.5 is a patch for the Unofficial Patch v1.4

It can be a bit confusing which file you want, the current latest version is here, posted 7th Nov 2018
UPatch 1.5 Enhanced

File Name
UP1.5_enhanced_1.00_0001.zip

The file name is your double check that you got it right.

Paste that over the Unofficial Patch v1.4 files, or Game folder if you installed v1.4 already
