I'm trying to backup my savegames in AoW:Shadow Magic, but they don't seem to be under "Age of Wonders Shadow Magic/Save", despite that the game does indeed to be saving there. What's going on?
If you're on Vista or Win7 look in

C:\Users\<yourusername>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\AoW.

The AppData folder may be hidden by default. If so, you'll have to go into folder options and tick the box for 'show hidden files, folders and drives'.

Yep, that was it. How intuitive. :) Thanks!
Hmm.. I installed game in custom directory, and game put savefiles in it's own folder.

UPD. Oh, AoW: SM. I must read more careful.

Google Windows User Account Control (UAC). The UAC can be turned off quite easily, I have it turned off on my machine at home. With it off the files will go into the place where one would expect them to =)
Heh, the root of all evil.

I face the same problem with AoWII:TWT on Windows 7. Solution Works!
