Many of us want The Witcher 3, but, if THIS is going to be the norm for pricing, you will lose customers.

It's sad that the GOG we knew is turning into Blizzard, EA, and Activision.

Come on GOG, we would really like some response. If anyone from GOG is reading this, I am certain you remember the furor on the Diablo III forum when the devs were silent as a winter's night in Antarctica. The community was in an uproar and it damaged Blizzard considerably - to the benefit of Runic, GGG, and other developers/publishers.

I hope I am speaking for ALL here when I state that we would like a response to this; please provide your reasoning as to why a poor country like Lithuania has to pay more than obscenely wealthy Norway and Switzerland. What IS the MSRP for this game GOG?
Well..they made several statments at the first and secound thread but nearly stopped posting there after some time.
And...therefore the discussion is "running circles" i don't think they will post additional comments.

$39.99/$44.99 In Australia, on both GoG AND Steam.
I'm not sure this GoG DRM Free Premium exists . . . Games on GoG seem to be at the same price as DRM super power Steam?

Well the whole issue here is that the publisher is setting the price and insists on regional pricing, so unless there's some sort of sale it will be the same price on every site. GoG mentioned trying to get some sort of extras for the countries affected but that has either not happened yet or its not mentioned anywhere.

Yeah... nope. I can just now get Age of Wonders III for steam and it will cost me no more than $26. For deluxe $30. As oppose to $55 and $62 on gog.

I mean seriously. Why do people still use this "It's this way for me, so it must be same for everyone!" fail logic?

From Russia, Basic edition:
The gog pre-order price is 39.99 Euros, which is 1,963.27 roubles. The price on Steam is 599 roubles, which is 12.2 Euros.

I sent email to gog support asking for clarification, especially in light of the 'back to our roots' post from gog but That was 24 hours ago and I've had nothing back.

Guess I'll wait for a couple of days more or buy on Steam.

From what I can see, looking through this thread, the calculation for the price is based on the IP address of the client? Which, according to some databases, places me in Romania, where as others are correctly placing me in Russia.

Being as I haven't had a reply from gog support, I'm loath to send another asking about this. Does anyone have any ideas, other than using proxy?

Out of interest, what price are Romanians seeing and in which currency?

Thanks for that. I sent a second mail to gog support but haven't received a reply to that one either. Can't say I'm terribly impressed with their customer service people.

I really don't like knowing that I'm charged 20% more just by being european : EUR is quoting 1.38-1.39 USD, not 1:1, but there's 20% VAT. What is the rationale for this +20% price then ?
So I'll be searching a kind US soul to "offer" me the game ...

I just ordered a DVD version of the Normal edition.

My internet connection is not that fast so I was not looking forward to hours of downloading anyway, but it was the pricing that did it for me: EUR 34.99! Cheaper than on GOG afaik.,so a bit of a no-brainer.

I figure I do not mind the folks at Triumph earning a bit, after all I have bought all versions of Age of Wonders on DVD and (recently) on GOG, played it for more hours than I care to remember. But I do not see the point in paying more than I need to :)

FYI, in case you don't know, retail is a Steam key. Though if Triumph has it together the files on the DVD will at least be useful.

I did not know. What does that mean, I have to log in to Steam? I do not even have an account there.... So if I order on GOG, I do not have to be connected to the internet to play?
