I have two machines and both exhibit the same problem, the menu's won't load at all.
First machine is IBM T60 with Core Duo, 1GB of ram, and GMA 945 running Win7 32bit. Second machine is Athlon64 x2 4200 with 2GB and AMD HD5700 running XP SP2.

I've tried turning off sound completely, unchecking resolution change, changing windows acceleration, unloading AV, messing with DEP, tried hardware and software cursors, tried changing the desktop to 16bit mode, etc. Both machines have current drivers and the desktop has probably 40 other games that run fine installed on it.

I have the AoW games since ages and they work perfectly on W7... However, the game doesn't display properly, or even doesn't launch at all on my rig (w/ATI mob 5890) if I set AA/AF on. Did you check that ?

Thanks for the info, I went into CCC, reset everything to factory default and then selected and unselected auto-AA and now I can play on the desktop! You made my holiday weekend =)
