Hello everyone,

Until two days ago, AoW III was working fine. It had sound and good graphics.

Now it only has good graphics, the sound is not working.


I've tried a bit of everything: launch the game in admin mode, check the volume and reinstalling my audio driver Realtek.

I haven't done the compatibility but I really don't think it's the root of the problem.


Does anyone have the solution ?

I'm running out of solutions and this is really doing my head in.

Thank you for replying to my message.

I'm on windows 10 yes and I don't remember updating my drivers recently. Sound worked fine on September 2nd but on September 6th it stopped working.

I get this message when I run AoW III in debug mode :

"Assertion failed: 'false'
Message: failed to setup sound system
Source\SESoundModule.cpp(35): (click to open)


I tried looking everywhere on the Internet but there's no solution, I don't know what to do :(

That sounds like it might be a c++ issue. I'm not sure if this (link) might help?

When you first installed, did you choose the normal install path for the files?

The first time, I installed it on the D hard drive .

Then I uninstalled it and put it on the C drive but the issue remains the same.

And now I just realized that Worms W.M.D doesnt work with sound either.


I'm out of solutions and C++ doesnt seem to solve any of it :/ .

Ok I fixed it by downloading realtek audio driver from the MSI website. It's the official one.
