I'll take the goblins.
Weeee

What's an azrac? I'll go with those :) just read the wiki, I can't do anything dumb now!

> does something dumb
Okay, the game is launched; let's use this thread to post turnlogs, might as well.
The turn order is this:

Arnuz as the Azracs, then -
Jyri as the Lizardmen
Thereunto as the Dwarves
Southern as the Orcs
and Vicious as the Goblins.

The rules are - If you've signed a peace treaty with someone, when you break it, you must wait a turn before attacking them; and if you've signed an alliance, then if you break it, you must wait a turn after to then break peace if you wish to do so.

Hmmm.... I'm going to say free movement is disallowed on warships, but allowed on the unarmed Transport Ship. It'd be tempting to allow it since everyone on the surface has Earth magic; it'd be fair. However, it'd also lead to all other troops being irrelevant, so it's a bad idea, I think.

Damn, now I know what I'm going to do in the bottom layer of my next map - Dwarves with access to the Fire Halo spell, a lava river network, and shipyards. (with little ponds of water to make the ships in before they're enchanted so as to travel on lava).

Oh and as you may have noticed from our other threads here Arnuz, people often post turnlogs, either to just say that they've played their turn, or comment on the game, or roleplay. Sadly I'm usually too lazy.

Received the Azrac turn, for whatever reason.

Ah! I already fucked up lol?

Trying again... Sorry guys
What is this strange land? Who are the mysterious figures that have summoned us here? I look at the other two bystanders and the perplexed look on their face is telling. I propose to collaborate and solve this riddle peacefully...

That was painful. To let the game save a file that I can see I have to start it as administrator. The strange thing is, it didn't signal any error when saving, so I've been saving again and again quite a number of times, until finally realising, took a while to figure it out. It's extremely weird - when playing on my own I save and see the files when I open the game next time, but from explorer they're not there... Yep, all my campaigns and scenarios aren't there in the save folder.

...Found them: ...\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\Age of Wonders good I won't have to start the gam as admin again next time. The more you know...

Still got the Azrac turn.
All the facepalms. Sent.
Did you press end turn? That's how the next file to send is generated, not pressing save, if that's what you're doing.
When you press end turn, the file is created in the folder "ageofwonders/emailout/"

I used to PBEM with hot seat turns and had the same learning curve getting used to the built-in PBEM feature. Hang in there, you'll get the hang of it
That was my first assumption, but when I tried it the first time the file wasn't there so I assumed it overwrote the file and sent it. Turns out gog puts user files in \AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\ but then mounts them so that the executable sees them under \program files. Or something like that, anyway from the in-game file explorer I saw the program files folder. Confusing! Hopefully the last attempt was good!
The last attempt was indeed good!

TS
Is that just for installations in Windows that are in the program files directory? I don't install things there any more because I heard there's some issues that can arise due to things I don't understand, like 'write protection' or something.
Orcs, Day 1

When the Druids of Swirlmount call, kings hearken and obey. We brought our princes and our vassals to participate in the rituals alongside us. Through the drops of princeling blood in the pool, the druids may glimpse their future, and through it the realms they are heirs to, and through that the fate of the whole land. Only when many of the good and the powerful come together can this oracular art function. We made merry with the lords of the Lizardmen and the Azracs, a rare thing indeed.

The Druids did not reveal their vision to us, but that is normal. To reveal it to those from whom it was read, is to render it inaccurate. The nature of their prophecy is a secret they never reveal, and which they use rarely, but with great skill and care.

OOC: I had some issues too, oddly. I got the Wrapper email from Thereunto, Wrapper went ping, I opened turn.... and it was Azracs. When I manually downloaded the turn from the email, it was Orcs as it should be - as if the Wrapper had pinged without actually downloading. Odd.

OOC: I really should add some flavour text to the map.
Goblins, Day 1

Dwarfs come to us. Dwarfs offer peace. Is not trustworthy. Dwarfs are all 'Goblins bad. Goblins yuck. Kill, kill, kill." And now Dwarfs want peace. Don't trust it. Never will. But peace is good. We take it. Yes. Take it.
